Living In Italy is a dream. In this episode, we show you the Prince’s Palace, of Scalea, Italy. We are welcomed to tour this old, but fabulous palace, and we take you in, as work is being done to restore it. We also take you along with us, as we have fun, dining out. And, we show you how the community of Scalea really comes together, to support each other, in a time of crisis, as Lido Da Pietro has been burned. The support that is found in Scalea, Italy is truly amazing.

We are American expats, living now, full time, in beautiful Calabria Italy, in wonderful Scalea. Michael is physically disabled, with mobility issues. As we vlog Italy, we do like to show in our videos, that anyone can dare to dream of life in Italy, regardless of mobility issues. The truth is, Italy mobility can, at times, be challenging. Hey Guys, Justin great job filming the Palazzo, what a gorgeous place, a hotel and restaurant would be unreal. Nice to see the whole town show solidarity for the burnt out lido….

What a fun episode. You can feel the history & see the palace's potential. I imagine the palace surrounded by multiple gardens with fountains & a magnificent pool with sea view. Reminiscent of Vizcaya in Miami, but better because it's Italy. Thanks for sharing. Love you guys.
The Palace is not private, but owned by Italy. In may a public tender granted the propety of the palace for 50 years to Best Western. They are going to restore in total respect of the original structure, according to recycling priciples and with environmentally friendly material. It will become an Hotel with 5 suites, a restaurant and a Spa.

Hello Justin and Michael ! A beautiful palace, the view is really magical..It was a very good winter weather even if it seems cold to you. It depends where you was born and live on this earth ! 😅 Here near Paris it is only 3 degrees Celsius (often -10 when I was a child) but a sunny day made for a pleasant fresh walk for yesterday it was a sad rainy day…Have a good week and be happy in the stunning land of Calabria. Another great way to spend my cold, rainy Sunday. I’m a so cal girl now living up north and I still haven’t gotten used to under 70* weather year round lol. I am a pop tart but I’m good with that! Happy for you that your first disappointment turned into this fun surprise! What a treat to get to go in and see the palazzo being restored! I was thinking it would make a great venue for small conferences…but then I saw the comment from another viewer that it’s been leased to a hotel chain to have a respectful restoration completed that will turn it in to 5 suites and a restaurant. I’m sure that will be lovely to see! I was hoping you could go up that beautiful sweeping staircase inside, Justin! So beautiful. Of course, I also wouldn’t have gone up it in your place—so very nice of the crew to let you in and it might have felt like taking advantage of that kindness. Thinking of Karen, too, and sending her some old-fashioned California “good vibes”, LOL. Abbracci a tutti!!!!

Wow and the views, seeing our village and Dino and that beautiful sea and sky ❤❤ we love Quece especially in the summer when they have live music on. So sorry to hear about Pietros but what wonderful love and support for him.
Can’t wait to see you again, we’ve booked the crossing on the 27th April, how long we’re there depends on the very complicated visa application, but a minimum 3 months, hopefully a lot longer 🙏🤗 xx
