Amazing content! I am actually from Calabria but I live in Germany. Every time I go home, my stress levels drop and I feel so much healthier. I agree that healthy food and slow living are a big part of it. I think that another reason is the amazing climate and nature that is there: the sea and the sun-kissed green hills and the beautiful mountains, all add to the wellness you can feel. You can enjoy silence there, a rare thing in a big city plagued by noise pollution caused by cars.
I love all the walking that I do when I'm there. It makes me feel more invigorated! The food is just better all around. ! Off topic: I would love to see a video about how people secure their homes when they leave Italy. It's something I worry about when I get my own place there. How to secure it and ways to keep it clean from dust/bugs when you're away for months at a time.
Thanks for the video. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You touched on a lot of great topics as to the health benefits of living in Italy. My husband is a Nutritionist here in the United States and we have run a “healthy eating” food blog for several years. Together we also taught classes and demonstrations on how to prepare healthy foods in a way that actually improves them.
In America it is hard to eat healthy with all of the “added” ingredients put into the foods, not impossible, but hard. My husband, with his experience in nutrition, can see exactly why so many people see improvements in their health upon being in Italy for a period of time.
Personally we are excited to move to southern Italy, in the near future, to actually see these benefits for ourselves. Thanks again! Maybe we will see you and your lovely wife & daughter, one day in the future, in Italy. Ciao!
This video is so important and so informative. There is a reverence for food in Italy and there are laws put in place by the government to keep the food as it is now. Thank you!
I agree with everything you said. The lifestyle and food in Italy and especially Calabria; is vastly superior to the USA. The food is much cheaper too.
Yes! agree with everything you stated. My husband and I bought a place in Scalea 2 years ago and we definitely noticed a difference in the way we felt. First off the water, the water is wonderful right out of the tap. It smells good and tastes good. I felt good drinking it. The food is tasty and even the most simple things have good flavor. I was never bloated like when we are in the States. We ate sweets for breakfast and cappuccio. Pizza, pasta, gelato…but we also ate a lot of wonderful fruit, veggies, beef, pork and seafood…aww wonderful seafood! I seriously didn't hold back the whole 3 weeks in Italy and was surprised we both didn't gain an ounce! The walking was so enjoyable we didn't realize how much we actually walked… and we also slept very well. We absolutely love life in Calabria. The sea, the mountains, the history, the people. We love how much love goes into the food…and you can taste it 💚🤍❤️
You are right. My husband and I go every year in Italy and at home we have many sleep problems with work stress…But we have noticed that when we go to Sicily we sleep about ten hours without waking up. We live outside all days, swim and eat quite biological vegetables and fruits, fresh local fish. At home we try to eat more biological food but it is expensive. In Italy I know they put less pesticide than in France and there many small family farms, so it is more natural. Thank you for your interesting video and still be healthy as all your family ❤
Hello Vince! I can't agree more, I'm back home in Poland and Italy is calling me back! On the practical side – how can you Guys manage in the winter time? I've been to Scalea and lived in an apartment building, there was no heating at all except for an AC unit… Did you have to insulate the flat somehow? Have you added an extra electric wall heaters? May I ask what would the ETA on the monthly electric bill be in the winter time for a flat around 50 square meters? Cheers.

We are going next month to check out the area as a possible retirement town. We have never been to Scalea. Excited to see it.

Food makes all the difference. Great video.
This is true! After seven months in Calabria, I am still slow and healthy. Thank you very much❤❤❤
