According to the United States Air Force Academy, Mitchell Hall is one of the world’s largest and most advanced dining facilities, capable of feeding 4,000 cadets in under 30 minutes and preparing 10,000 meals each day. Three days a week, cadets muster outside of the facility in formation and march in to eat a family-style lunch. Insider spent three days with members of Mitchell Hall’s staff, witnessing the large-scale coordination required to plan and prepare meals that sustain the cadet wing each day.

  1. It’s a bunch of precooked crap! The food I eat in boot camp was always freshly cooked and not made in a factory then reheated! But there again I wasn’t in the Air Force either!

  2. That one cadet resting his forearms on the table edge then bringing his mouth to food would never happen at the USNA. You always bring the food to your mouth, not dip your head and eat like an animal

  3. In other words, they could feed a family of four in Wisconsin.

  4. Army Cook here…this is pretty standard for a large garrison setting. We have a similar, if not better garrison kitchen set up here in Indiana at Camp Atterbury. . . It’s when you go to the field, that’s when things get interesting lol

  5. I would think on that scale it would be economical to make there own food, but because there short staffed thay cant

  6. Stop calling these people a Chef fr fck sake they do nothin but cut open packed shit and trow it in automatic cookers etc .
i Would atleast make fresh chicken currys / fish currys evryday to keep people happy .
