A novice teacher faces a class of rowdy, undisciplined working-class punks in this classic film that reflected some of the problems and fears of teens in the 60s. Sidney Poitier gives one of his finest performances as Mark Thackeray, an out-of-work engineer who turns to teaching in London’s tough East End. The graduating class, led by Denham (Christian Roberts), Pamela (Judy Geeson) and Barbara (Lulu, who also sings the hit title song), sets out to destroy Thackeray as they did his predecessor by breaking his spirit. But Thackeray, no stranger to hostility, meets the challenge by treating the students as young adults who will soon enter a work force where they must stand or fall on their own. When offered an engineering job, Thackeray must decide if he wants to stay.

    A fine little film. The graduation party scence still brings a tear to this 71 yr. old eye. The world has moved on…. generations have changed. There will never be another moment between adults and teens as portrayed in TO SIR WITH LOVE. ANd the theme song by LULU what more could a film experience offer

    Sidney One of the Greatest Actors in the World! Brittish students/ people Doesn't surprise Me with their behaviour because they were Always Primitive acting like Animals. But I Really Likeee This Movie a Lot!

    Thank you for posting this film. It made a big impact on my life ; it came out when I was in junior high. So many strong feelings and experiences (good and bad). Growing up was hard, and "To Sir With Love" was a big part of it.

    Extremely educational . Amazing transformation of those students ,resulting in dispay of genuine respect. and personal growth. Well done Sir Sidney Poitier!!

    Fantastic movie. Great story. What a cast. Sidney Poitier, Christian Roberts (both RIP). Judy Geeson, Lulu, Patricia Routledge, Rita Webb(loved her ) Suzy Kendall ,Adrienne Posta. All the others too. Was feeling a bit low today ,watched the movie ,so uplifting. Thank you CineClips. Iam a new subscriber.

    This movie reminds me of my secondary school. The novel was one of my literature texts, and we also watched the film in one of our movie nights. Boarding school was really nice then😊.
