  1. Jon's facial reaction "Wow…" when she said she liked the fish better than Fish and Chips in London says it all.

  2. Man, some really ignorant commentary on the video. Why complain about places being gimmicky etc IN TIMES SQUARE. You guys should understand exactly what it is. Also, if you want more seasoning, season it. You can always add more but you cant take seasoning away. Do better next time, people want real opinions not just native NY shunning things that serve the intended purpose

  3. I love malt vinegar, some fresh lemon, a little tartar on the side, and some salt [as needed]… GR's chips should be those nice stubby ones too.. $18? I wouldn't consider that hwy robbery at all these days, especially in NYC. 😋👍🌻

  4. I feel Americans are used to eating with so much seasoning that they can't tell what actual meat or fish tastes like.

  5. Go to A Salt & Battery for very authentic Fish & Chips! Would love to see your take on it compared to that place in Time Square. And yes, British people have fish & chips quite often.

  6. My wife and I got Fish 'n' Chips in London near the Thames. It was cheaper, but it didn't look as good as yours and no dipping sauces.
As for Carlos, take the subway to the East Village and go to Veniero's on E. 11th St. There you can also get "Lobster Tails" (oy!) also know as sfogliatelle.
And yes, I got to the end of your video, Jon where you mention Veniero's. Well done.

  7. I don't care how good it is… or isn't. Gordon Ramsey is a horribly abusive person. I will NEVER allow ANY of my money to flow to him.

  8. I'm a Brit that's lived in Ireland for about twenty years and one thing I miss from England is fish and chips.

Sorry Ireland love you to bits but your fish and chips are terrible. Your chippy's seem to concentrate on a bigger and too much of a diverse menu. combined with that and the low Irish patience is a very bad mix.

  9. Best fish and chips I ever ate was at the Telephone restaurant on 2nd. Avenue, in the East Village. Big authentic red British telephone booth outdoors. Super crispy, absolutely delicious. This was a long time ago, when I lived thee.

  10. Can't compare it to authentic but I have had better looking fish n chips in Goa in India. So between that and Goa , I would go to Goa unless ofcourse it's UK, then no competition

  11. I tried a cannoli at Carlos Bakery in Atlantic city and was a bit disappointed as he was supposedly known for his cannoli and I thought it was nice as well. I've had amazing elsewhere.

  12. I've been to the Carlo's in Hoboken several times as well as the one at Mohegan Sun. The cannoli are ok, but their italian cookies and their crumb cake are terrific. Prices are not great though, so I'd prefer my italian pastry from a place not in a heavy tourist area, like Cafe Roma in Little Italy or Veniero's in the East Village.

  13. Dude, the fish n chips look good. I'm not British, but a colonial peasant who knows. A bit of chicken salt on the chips and you're all set. Where I come from, shark is our fish of choice. That being said, the price in NY is insane!

  14. Tbh, these places are so hyped… the only true staple local eatery in NYC I'd say is Katz Delicatessen at this point.

  15. i went to that Carlos bakery on Saturday, I got the chocolate cake & the birthday cake cannoli. i loved it

  16. Saying that Carlo’s cannoli are better than any of the one you’ll find in Little Italy is not true. For the same price, I’ll take the ones from Caffé Palermo over Carlo’s any day.

  17. The fish and chips at Gordon Ramsay's place looks ok and the price is not crazy but it's seems kind of commercial stuff to me. Next time you are in Astoria, Queens you should try the fish and chips at Cronin and Phelan. Located at 38-14 Broadway. Shepard's pie and burgers are very good too.

  18. Fish and Chips in the UK is made fresh to order. Is in one big piece and you get alot of for not much. Costs £7-8 now a days outside of metropolitan areas.

  19. one of the atteactions i want to see in new york are my favorite youtubers herebebar and the sarahfunk

  20. Have you ever done a video on the restaurant that has the food in little lockers can’t think of the name if you have what did you think of it?

  21. Iam from the U.K., i live in Switzerland, i could eat Italian Pastries in Italy it'self. The Fish n' chips? No. To go to NYC sometime? A definitive YES.

  22. Hey man, watch your videos regularly I was in NY for the first time 2 months ago. The reason I keep watching them is because you're so easy to watch and listen to. You are very chill and it's nice to watch someone who's not trying to make everything upbeat but can still make a very entertaining video. Cheers from Ireland 🇮🇪

  23. I am sorry. But you can't get good fish & chips in london If you want it you have to go to yorkshire and the fish must be haddock and if you pay $48 dollars for that it must have gold leaf on it lol hahaha.

  24. I love your videos but the fact that this girl said McDonald’s fries are better when at Gordon’s place would automatically make all their input irrelevant… EDIT… There were multiple comparisons to McDonald’s. And then this dude said he’d expect to pay $10 for an order of fish and chips. You CANNOT GET a legit dockside fresh off the boat that morning order of fish and chips in New England for less than 15 bucks for similar portions. The Ramsay review is officially irrelevant. Sorry bud
