One of my all time favorite scenes from the film “Goodfellas” (1990). I love how there’s a corpse in the trunk but everyone is having a casual dinner.

  1. How old were you when you found out that this lady was Martin Scorsese's real mother and that this whole sequence was improvised, absolutely no prescripted dialogues an no rehearsal.

  4. Love how unreal the scene is: walking into the kitchen – there must be a shovel around here….🤣who keeps shovels in the house? The Kolpecks? (IYKYK!) 😂

  5. I love how they all wait to greet her with smiles and a kiss. I don't care how tough you are. A sweet old mother or grandmother can melt ANYONE.

  6. I once heard that she knows her son is a criminal and she knows that he has killed ppl. There’s a part of her that maybe even know at this moment. But all that matters to her in this moment is my son is here, I love him, and I’m gonna cook him and his friends a meal and spend time with them

  7. No matter how much older we get, we always stop whatever to greet and honor our mothers and grandmothers.

Also we can always expect food

  8. At 57 seconds, in the background. I like to think that's Tommy's Shine Box. The one that shined Billy Batt's shoes. That box is the most infamous shine box in movie history.

  9. I wish you bums would keep trying to be like me thanks for being my fan come near me you won’t return 😂🙏

  10. When she’s telling the story Tommy just kinda stares at Henry like, fuk ya doin?

  11. Its always made me so happy how Marty just had his mom be in the movie. You'd think she'd be too nervous, or look lost in the scene but she's great here. Just shows how much he loved his momma

  12. I remember feeling sorry for his Mother during the entire picture. She had no idea her beloved son was a twisted murderer. She kept trying to make everything seem so normal and she wanted it that way but her son was too far gone. Poor dear. She deserved better.

  13. I remember thinking to my self. “This is a kinda movie Joe Pesci would in” and I got that right for some reason… I only saw that prison dinner so many times, and I still made guesses he’d be in it

  14. Its Scary that a Italian Mother would let Her Grown Ass Son in the house at the middle of the night, with his Men Kissing them and hugs after all that blood smell. If you know 😉 we smell blood. Never could be my Afro-
Jew Mother I'll be in the car slumped or backyard with sprinklers waking my ass up.

  15. This scene is too legendary. I especially like the whole "Nah, it's alright, we didn't wanna wake you, you can go back to bed" to "Full on course meal at 3am" 😂🤣
Deniro 2nd'ing his mom is also too good "Why don't you settle down?" 😂
