We made it to ROME! After taking a train from Naples to Rome, we immediately walked up to Piazzale Giuseppe Garibaldi to get a beautiful overview of Rome. Then, we did an amazing food tour through the Trastevere neighborhood which we highly recommend! It was a highlight of the trip. #italy #rome #romefoodtour

If you're staying in Trastevere you are across the river from the centre of Rome and most of the sights … except the Vatican, which will be on your side.
We just booked the Trastevere food tour. Did you actually eat pasta at Da Enzo or did they just give you appetizers?

Thanks for sharing – great video. Did you happen to notice the guy with the semi automatic rifle standing behind you about 5 min in, while you ate the arancini?!! What was that about?!! Iโll be going in August and my other half is extremely safety-conscious. Not sure if โRome in the wildโ is for us. Nervous ๐ฌ we may need to stick to the main sights and organized tours.
Thanks so much for sharing!! Going in Aug. we arrive on a Sat morning and I donโt want to book anything for that first day – not sure about travel delays or how well weโll sleep on flight. So what Iโve done is written down all the spots and weโll do our own food tour if/when weโre up to it and have time! Staying near Pantheon and have underground crypts tour booked Sunday afternoon, coloseum/forum/palatine Monday and Tuesday is Vatican/Castel Sant Angelo.
