We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.

Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

  1. You learn something new everyday, I thought that EU wiring was standardised, obviously not. Here in the UK live is brown, neutral blue and earth green and yellow. Regards Jim UK.

  2. I was expecting a bunch of oldies (like myself) to come sluffing in to do yet another job lol.

Low and behold a bunch of young, good looking, obviously capable young men show up!

You're clearly getting to the fun part of renovating now tho' with homes, especially older ones on a good sized piece of land, there will always be something that needs doing bur yeah, we own homes and homes own us.

    ❤️🇨🇦

  3. Madi – thank you for such an excellent explanation of the design concept. It made the rest of the video so easy to understand. The original work by Vince made the electricians work simple to complete – well done. Looking forward to your next video .

  5. Redoing all the wires because it is the wrong colour. Germany is proud of you Italy. Wouldn't have done it. Thats totally stupid if the copper is thick enough. Anyone wondering what is what, test it. Had similar issues, electrian wanted to test all wires, told em to f*** off and found someone who d just install the main power. Everything was running without issues on the construction power breaker box for 6 months. Electrics is too expensive today.

  6. Impressive. I'm a big fan of NYM cables. But your technique of single wires in a tube is probably more cost effective. Live and learn 🤗

  8. In Oz triple cable comes with a Black, a red and an unshielded ground all encased in the one unit. We don't have the corrugated tubing because the insulation capacity of the triple core is sufficient for the domestic 240v power. Our lighting circuits use a duo core, two separately insulated cables bound in one insulated unit. Running and setting up electricity in a house is to be done only by certified tradesmen, and they protect their monopoly jealously..

  11. I must admit I chuckled to hear your sparky is named Kevin 😊 that’s such a British name, is he from the UK? Or is it common in Italy too?

  13. I ALWAYS INDERSTOOD THE ITALIAN SYSTEM OF APPROVAL WAS VERY DIFFICULT?????? YOU BOTH ARE AMAZING!!!!!

  15. Super fun to watch it get to this stage, great work. A few mistakes can be expected, professionals are professional for a reason!

  16. You did well since it's not your area of expertise. And that's why the professionals are there. Good work 👏
