  1. I would love to get your thoughts on tipping in Mexico. Cabo for example do you tip separate for housekeeping and turn down service what would be an appropriate tip at a luxury resort? Also, do you tip the golf cart drivers that drive you around the property? What about the the attendant in charge of getting you the cab?
I was told when a restaurant at the resort adds a tip you should add an additional tip, that doesn’t sound right to me.
I don’t mind tipping I just don’t want to be over tipping or under tipping.
Thank you for your videos, I appreciate all your great advice.

  2. So we have opted to go to Turks and Caicos next May for the honeymoon that we never got even though it will be our 11 year anniversary. Lol

We originally were going to go to the Bahamas, but we opted to replace that with Turks and Caicos instead as we have friends that live there. We will be staying in a very upscale, five star boutique hotel. Now the tipping is different here I understand than it is in the Bahamas. Also in the Bahamas Gratuity is added to everything but some people say you still need to tip anyway. Because we were staying in a luxury five-star boutique resort, I want to be sure that I tip appropriately. I’m not worried about the restaurants because I’ll be able to figure that out pretty easily. But as far as housekeeping goes, and the concierge, the restaurant, at the hotel, and the bar at the hotel, which is a big attraction at this one, evidently, what do you suggest? I can kind of follow the same line as what you posted here for Europe and such. But I just thought I would ask. I assume you and your husband have been to Turks and Caicos, so what do you think? Thank you for your help!😊

  3. As a European, I can confirm this is indeed true, at least for France and Italy. I've never been to Greece, so in case I ever get there, I'll re-watch this video 😊

  4. Thank you Annie for this video. It is important to raise awareness. I would add my experience here. Do not tip when in Switzerland neither, it is not expected. They get a reasonable salary here and at times if the tip is very small it maybe considered insulting. If however you have loved the service feel free to give a generous tip which definitely will be remembered by the staff if you go back at that restaurant. Unfortunately the countries where tip is expected are typically those where the employer is exploiting their staff and pay them peanuts which to begin with, is wrong and by tipping them you are supporting the "exploitation" system. I speak at least about Greece which I know well, and from what I noticed it is the same in America too. It is not about being a good human or not, it is about recognising what is wrong with the system and addressing it. Everybody who does a service needs to be paid correctly and not to be begging for something from the customer. The customer should only be expected to pay the price of the food and drink they have chosen which already has the service price embedded to it. They should tipp only if they feel from their heart to do so, not to compensate for service that should be paid by the restaurant owner or employer. It is a matter of principle. But hey what Annie is giving you is perfect advice on how the system works in every country. You make your choice and be courteous regardless.
