FILM DESCRIPTION:
A woman learns to love life when she finds out she won’t be around long in this comedy. Georgia Byrd (Queen Latifah) lives in New Orleans, where she works in the cookware department of an upscale gourmet supply shop. While Georgia carries a torch for Sean (LL Cool J), one of her co-workers, she doesn’t have the nerve to tell him, and despite her estimable skills in the kitchen, she lives frugally and doesn’t put her talent to use. Georgia’s good friend Rochelle (Jane Adams) often tells her that life is short and she needs to live a little, but she doesn’t pay her much mind until a visit to the doctor reveals that Georgia has a very rare medical condition, and only has three weeks to live. Throwing caution to the wind, Georgia cashes out her life savings and heads to Europe for a last bit of revelry. She checks into a four-star hotel, trades her drab clothes for haute couture, finds herself flirting with a handsome and powerful politician (Giancarlo Esposito), convinces the head of a cooking supplies firm (Timothy Hutton) that she’s a high-powered executive from a rival company, and makes friends with a four-star chef (G

  1. Beautiful moments when Gustavo had a middle good life before meet Don Eladio and Hector Salamanca

  2. Georgia is an absolute BOSS in this movie. Going on her dream holiday solo and totally shining during her dinner-for-one appearance. Absolute boss! Such a QUEEN.

  3. I just tried watching this movie on Netflix. And i'm glad i did! I loved it. I love the message. It's inspiring. She was living a life knowing she's gonna die. It was all worth it.

  4. This movie inspired me to live humble, work hard and at the same time have the balance in life, pampering myself

  5. I have found that in fine dining, you will get the best servicem presentation and often complimentary add ons if you defer to the chef. Dont order on of his or her dishes and then immediately ask to change things. The chef knows best how the dish should be prepared and has gone to great lengths to create the dish. Nothing irritates them more than someone coming in and ordering a curated dish with creatively sourced, costly ingredients, only to be told "Can you make the truffle risotto without truffles…on can you use riced cauliflour instead?"

I myself have been known to go overboard when in a fine restaurant and order more than one option just because everything looks so amazing and I want to try it all. When asked how I want something prepared, I always say "However the chef feels it should prepared." Ive had many visit my table, and Ive gotten some lovely add ons, chocolates and champagne just for respecting the art that goes into a splendidly prepared meal.

  6. I love this film. Simple as that. Queen Latifa was amazing in this

  7. She is not at all fat, she’s just thick and beautiful. When I was little I use to see her as fat because of the body standers during that time, and because I was young and very skinny. She doesn’t have back rolls, or far arms or a big belly. Her body is actually perfect.

  8. I miss good wholesome movies like this, reminds me of the times where we’d watch these movies with friends and families around the holidays before everybody went their own separate ways…😢

  9. When I moved to Massachusetts to go to school. I was alone for many months. I grew up feeling you always had to dine with someone. But watching this movie made me realize you can be your own good company. It is a lesson everyone should know. Even if it is not easy to learn.

  10. I consider myself to be a man of a considerable appetite, looking at all the food she ordered just made me want to pig out and eat ❤
