A big thanks to everyone at Dalmore for sending the dram over. But what is the Luminary series? Well, the Luminary Series is a collaboration with artisans chosen by Scotland’s V&A Dundee design museum and the Dalmore distillery. The first product in the series, The Dalmore Luminary No.1, 2022 Edition, was developed in conjunction with architect Kengo Kuma and his protégé Maurizio Mucciola. The Collectible, a 15-year-old whisky from The Dalmore, has been matured in American white oak, Italian Amarone Red Wine casks, and bespoke ‘Kintsugi’ casks, and is presented in a specially designed box by Mucciola.

  1. Hey Mark! Great video as always. Maybe when you have time, you will consider talking about Compass Box. The older editions that got in conflict (i don't know if this is the term) with Scotch Association and maybe the newer ones: Tobias & The Angel and Vellichor. It looks like someone has put some time and effort into creating them. Thank you

  2. Hey Mark, nice video. I was curious if you could make some video on upcoming whiskey that are about to be relesed and maybe how to get into that market when some new edition/bottle is being released. Thanks and keep up the good work! 🙂

  3. Great review! Since you ask. I have 2 bottles I'd love to get some investing info on, they are .. The Bowmore Aston Martin 21 (Master's cut 1st release, and perhaps even the newly released 22). And the 27 timeless I have been hearing a bit about in your comments.

At least a couple of those bottles currently are not so difficult to acquire at the moment. I think back to your video/s about the Bowmore Black series, and I wonder if this bottles might follow in those footsteps as those releases became extraordinarily valuable, and when I think about the quality of the 21 (for instance) and the story about it, not to mention, how it includes very rare old Bowmore casks form the early 80s, I'm thinking that it too (the 21) will follow in the footsteps of the Black Bowmore series. Would love to get your thoughts.

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Mark, great content as always, although this one was all about the Bling 😉 I am wondering, as a fan of their whisky, how good an investment older (30+ year old) Tomatin could be? I have one or two and they are well presented in wooden cases and carry bag (all quite useless but keep up apprearances). Keep up the good work!

  5. In your previous videos you've spoken about the potential gains on collecting Macallan 18s. I wanted to know your thoughts on the Macallan rare cask bottle. Do you think collecting this bottle could have the same long term appeal as the 18? Its a NAS but it has a nicer bottle and presentation box than the 18, and is a similar price. So wanted to know if they're in the same league. Thank you.
