In this episode we taste a Bordeaux from my cellar. This 2007 Chateau Fleur Cardinale from St. Emilion was delicious when I tasted it 10 years ago, but how is it now?

According to the Wine Spectator’s Vintage Charts, wines from the 2007 vintage in Bordeaux are ready for drinking and should not be held much longer – let’s see if they are correct.

This wine is downright delicious, has plenty of life left in it and yet another reason why you need to be drinking Moar Bordeaux!

The wine tasted in today’s episode is:

  1. Although I have never drank this I do have the 2015 Fleur Cardinale. I don't have your patience so the bottle will be gone in the next couple years. A few weeks ago I also bought the 2022 futures of Fleur Cardinale. Just like you said – buy this blind.

  2. It's probably worth pointing out that this Château is a Saint-Émilion "Grand Cru Classé". The "Grand Cru" classification on the right bank of Bordeaux doesn’t mean much as even very low quality wines can obtain it. Then there are the very high level Premier Grand Cru Classé A and B wines that change every 10 years. To make things even more confusing some famous Chateau's have decided not to take part in the classification.
