    Santorini is extremely expensive. It's not even that beautiful. The goddess of beauty was discovered in Milos.Come to Milos to see real beauty.

    4:00 This room is so much overpriced. You can book a room with a better view (not a view of the hotel and caldera but a view of the city, churches, and caldera) and the same quality in one of the boutique hotels in Santorini, better in Fira as it is a bit cheaper than Oia, for 120 Euros per night in the after-season, like October. A great time to visit Santorini, not so hot and less crowded. Why do I know? We just did it. Yes, had even an indoor swimming pool in a cave.

    It is possible to go to one of those hotels with infinity pool just to take a picture on the pool (my wife's dream is to have a picture on it hehehe) maybe just to pay for the access to the pool since we don't need to stay for the whole day?

    As Greek and working in customer service in Santorini i would have to say some useful tips, if someone is on budget.
    1. Stay no longer than 3-4 days.
    2. Take a bus from the crowded central station in fyra , ticket costs 1,60 one way to imerovigli oia kamari perisa.
    2 euros to port or from , ( be careful , coins only) and the ticket collectors are shouting for the departing bus so pay attention to them.
    3. Santorini has a great connection with ferrys
    Take a ferry to either Mylos Crete Naxos from Naxos another one to koufonisia donousa skinousa ( for unique Beaches) or to folegandros( great chora) , ios ( party island and also for relaxation)etc ( those islands are in Cyclades ) Greece generally has numerous of habitat or inhabit island s each of them has its ID.
    4. Shop from big supermarket chains as like sklavenitis.in fyra .
    5. Walk from fyra to imerovigli through fyrostefani , 30 min . From oia to imerovigli walk is about 3 hours. ( Try this route)
    Yaghting is up to you, ideal is to go as a group and to book a cruise either from pireaus , Santorini,leros,crete etc or wherever in Greece compare prices make burgains and plan a 20+ day's for experience in most of the islands .
    6. Santorini is truly worth visiting once, its a Instagramic island , but you have to know that it doesn't represent local genuine hospitality, smaller and less habitat islands ( touristic) have a sence to it.
    Greece is an amazing country but due to luck of knowledge people find themselves trapped into the same destinations , Santorini, Mykonos, mylos, crete, Rhodes, zante, Corfu, chalkidiki, kos, paros.
    And don't even know islands as like ,
    Koufonisia, paxi, antipaxi, symi, leros, karpathos, anafi, amorgos, astypalaia, nisyros, alonisos, skiathos, and so on .
    If youre coming to Santorini is a great experience, but try to visit more gems less touristic.

    Hi! When did you go to Santorini in this video? Will it be too hot to explore at the beginning of September (Around the 5th of the month)? We are looking to do more sightseeing versus swimming when we go to Santorini, so we don't want it to be too hot/humid.

    Been to Santorini many times, and always stay in Perissa at The Villa Valvis, between the main road and the beach. It's a 5 minute walk to Tranquillo ( the orange bar in the video) Probably the best bar on the island. The salads are humungous.

    It was very nice hotel , we rented a car and drove all over the island.

    We never travel to any Greek islands in peak tourist season, clearly more expensive and crowded……pick shoulder season and save a lot of coin

    It’s cheaper… a bargain, however, you’re more likely to get robbed by guest or natives if you’re poolside and everyone or anyone can observe Your going and coming but I like cheaper and more in the midst of “ local culture “.

    I have been to Santorini but I am smart enough to research.. I stayed there for 1.5 weeks and it was fantastic !!!! I would say this to your opinion on saying Greece and even Santorini is expensive: if you want to have that view you will definitely be spending a suitcase full of money… adding to the fact that there are great hotels that are reasonably priced with top service…. 🙂 I will be returning to Santorini again and will be staying at the same hotel as the owners are hospitable, friendly, helpful…and I will be staying way longer….

    The million dollar sunsets you can also see at other islands people LOL…geeezzzzzz…. do your research !!!!

    4 hours hike between Fira and Oia? What r u talking about? It took us 2.5 hours no rush. Watch out though -it can be super hot so plenty of water and a head cover are a must
