What are the 4 Things You Really Need To Know Before Cruising with Seabourn Cruises? I explore the ultra-luxury Seabourn Cruise Line and discuss for essential things about them to help you decide if this is the best, or right, cruise line for your cruising vacation, including what Seabourn is, what they do better and the same as other ultra-luxury cruise lines, what your fare really gets (and does not get you) and who the line is best for.

Note: I travelled as a guest of the cruise line before making this video

  1. Sorry to write but your video put me off using this brand – way too many pretentious 'services' – a 'mixologist'! I think they meant to say 'a cocktail bar tender'.

  2. Thank you for the tips. Are there any women involved in your examples? I may have missed them. I would imagine that a lot of your passengers are women, but unusual that you did not mention any. That is a huge opportunity to improve messaging. I'm interested in the rates for solo travelers. How are they adapting with the virus pandemic?

  3. Very informative. However, one correction: gratuities are NOT included for any spa services. e.g. massages, hair cuts, facials, personal training, etc. Most group exercises (e.g. stretch, yoga, Pilates, meditation etc.) are included, and you don't need to tip for those.

  4. Don't bother if you are vegetarian (as is my wife). Utterly appalling provision for this. No choice in this category for Dinner except in main Dining room. Most other restaurants – no veggie option – at all!! Yet you pay the same as everyone else. I was not much impressed.
Otherwise food good, but service not as good as promoted.
    Frankly, not worth the money.

  5. Viking is much better Line to cruise with. WiFi and tour in every port are included!

  6. Id love to go on Seabourn cruise, and i will as soon as the dress code is changed. I think its realy stupid that anno 2021 your still cant wear good quality and good looking jeans to dinner. They look way better then those vintage and musty slacks the men wear. For me that is a no go and really old fashioned that makes the cruise line look old.

  7. My experiences have been all positive. Staff makes an effort to know your name within a couple of days; all have been great! As for other passengers – have met Brits, Aussies, Germans – as well as majority US. Have not experienced any "snootiness" among them; many retired (it is an older crowd but generally an active group). Port excursions have been worth the costs and interesting. I intend to continue with Seabourn when they resume.

  8. Hi, Gary,

Love your videos. I've been watching them more since we're gearing up for cruising to start again. Had seven cruises canceled over the last year, but have twelve booked over the next two years. Unfortunately, I think my Cararies cruise out of Southampton for July 2021 will be canceled soon.

Looking to set up an Asian cruise (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.) for early 2023. Both Oceania (Nautica) and Seabourn (Encore) have nice 20 to 28 day itineraries. Do you have a preference to either of these. We're in our late sixties and prefer quality but familiar service. We like to get to know the staff and find conversing with staff interesting. I also prefer leaving my tux at home. Both these lines seem like a fit. What do you think?

    Thank you,
    Kevin

  9. Hello sir!!! How you doing??? I want to apply for waiter or bartender in seabourn cruise.
If you can kindly make video on how much they earn and the criteria and all.
    Kindly guide me sir!!!

  10. Wonderful video Gary with really useful information. We've just booked Seabourn Ovation for a 14 night Caribbean cruise but not until January 2023. Looks like it'll be a cruise worth waiting for.

  11. As a solo traveler myself, I appreciate that you include the "Who is this line right for?" Thank you.

  12. So I understand that the steak restaurant is included 1 time/wk, but other than that, are there "premium"/upcharge restaurants?

  13. The guttural H habitual baboon thermodynamically water because peace adversely interfere amid a frantic grade. damp, useful duckling

  14. Hello, I thought Seabourn include excursions and also paid excursions for guests. Has this changed over the years?

  15. The Seaborne ship looks like a good option to add to our short list as the age range looks like our age group and I get a good overall feel. It’s lose to saga in that what’s important to us is included and what isn’t we can choose to have if we want. Regarding excursions, can you choose not to pay for an extension and just get off and wander on your own or is that not recommend? I quite like finding my own way around places and that would be cheaper, unless being taken off to a vineyard or a boat trip which of course you would pay for. Thank you again for a great video that is clear and informative.

  16. I always explore other 6 stat lines but always wind up with Regent. Everything is included. Excursions; Wi-Fi absolutely everything but the spa. You can literally get off the cruise 0 balanced

  17. Also Gary, it’s ridiculous to restrict an area of the ship when your paying upwards of 50,000. No way for me

  18. Gary, have you heard about the cruise they are doing with Sarah Brightman? Would love to hear your thoughts. Better yet, please go on it and post about it so I can live vicariously through you!

  19. I really feel privileged by being able to soak up all your information. SO helpful, and even entertaining. Such a great job- and such a great gift you are giving to us so generously! Thanks a ton, and big appreciation!

  20. We have not cruised since 2018 BUT when we do it will be on Seabourn again. An exceptional cruise line in every way. FYI I am not associated with them in anyway, simply a very, very happy customer. 2023 for sure.

  21. Interestingly, and I don't believe that I have mentioned this before but, Dr. Andrew Well is actually a Licensed Medical Doctor who adds MD behind his name along with many other credentials. He is fairly knowledgeable on several things. I believe, though it has been over30 years, that he began looking at alternative treatments because of the cost and potentially lethal side effects of many mainstream medications and has expanded from there. I don't know this but if it is no longer common knowledge that he is a physician, has he shifted his focus away from his practice? I don't know, it's not my business to know, I have considered him a reliable source of information though I would occasionally disagree on which treatment to begin first. None of that matters, I don't know him-only of him and I neither gain nor lose based on referrals or lack that he has. Simply FYI.

  22. Viking is MUCH better value and felt the service was better. Really ALL INCLUSIVE. ONLY additional charge was the tip

  23. LOVE ❤️ YOUR CONTENT
    AND MANY THANKS FOR NOT
    BLASTING OBNOXIOUS MUSIC
    IN BACKGROUN….
    SOOOOOO MANY TUBERS DO.

  24. Keep in mind that the Venture is indeed an expedition ship, but when you take the ship to Antarctica, it is not an icebreaker. This is something they don’t advertise. As luxurious & wonderful as it is, it’s something you should keep in mind as there’s no ice shelf lodging, the Grill (Thomas Keller Restaurant is not a typical steakhouse), and there’s very sadly very little entertainment, which makes the cruise a little disappointing. There’s a particular excursion coordinator who’s got serious problems. Gratuities in the spa are supposed to be included, but on the check, there’s a space for “gratuity” which they await for you to fill out as they hover over you. Overall, Seabourn has lowered their standards. I was also turned off by the number of travel agents who went around telling everyone how they were invited on the cruise while I paid a fortune. I was cornered by a handful of travel agents who would bother me trying to get my business on future vacations.
I wish travel agents would be limited to cruises for travel agents only. It’s unfair to paying passengers.

  25. Do waste you money on Oceania unless you really like bad seasick. Production show only consists of 4 people, music only play 45 minutes per day. All their money is spent on mailing advertising, 2 or 3 books per day in my mail box. Lobster is dry, tough with frozen taste. Specialty restaurants are not that good at all. Service is OK. Free wines is bad, $2.580 per bottle. I been to 250 cruises, this is the worst experience. Lots of adverting, most are paid YOUTUBER with free cruises, money, etc. and highly bias.. Do not believe them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WORTHLESS CRUISE. Small ship, Regent is the best, Vikings is second.
