Have you ever wondered what country travelers say has the rudest people? I did. I wish travel insurance covered a bad trip because people were rude.
So, I ran a survey and a poll to see what this channel’s audience and tourists from around the internet felt was the rudest country. And when I say country, I mean the locals. Obviously, a country can’t be rude. That won’t stop people from leaving a comment about that.
Tourism accounts for a good portion of most economies. A lot of families and businesses depend on those tourism dollars. You’d think everyone would be on their best behavior. That isn’t always the case. The countries on this list are the ones you guys felt had the rudest locals to the tourists.
Rude people and the worst countries to visit if you want to have a bad vacation.

I think people are basing their opinions on their own limited travel experience. For example is someone’s been to only 3 countries then they’re choosing only among those 3.
With all the respect but countries such as Greece, Italy and Spain I think the problem is more related with the lenguage barrier, the Americans just assumed that all the planet speaks them language. Probably the people are not rude but just they dont understand what you are saying. I find Greeks, southern Italians and Spanish the most welcoming people and to me sounds very strange hear they are rude. I live in the UK and I find british people extremely polite and nice, I'm very surprised about this as well. I would like to encourage the americans to analyse what they do as tourist, as far as I see abroad they are quite noisy, loud, rude and they complain about everything, maybe someone is rude with them for this reason?

I think the UK sits in at #2 because of London. It’s a city with nearly 10 million people in (counting Greater London) inside a nation that is about the size of Florida. They are a different breed in London but it’s just because it’s relentlessly busy with no personal space. If you go to the rest of the UK people on the whole are incredibly lovely
Indian rudest
Thailand used to be the land of smiles but it becomes the land of frowns they can be quite nasty and unfriendly these days unless you are spending a fortune at 5 star resorts they have of course become jaded by mass tourism and the under 25 particular have very poor social skills too many years buried in electronic devices

The British love to slag themselves off I think the British are way friendlier than all the other countries on this list if you get outside London ans in London you will be lucky to meet a British person anyway

They are horrific and it’s true the Parisian’s are the worse it’s depressing living in France 40 years ago it was a country to be proud of now it’s full of depressed French wondering what went wrong so they take out their frustration on everyone but they are as nasty to themesleves as foreigners

In so many of these countries there is a huge difference between the cities and the countryside – London vs. Yorkshire; New York vs. Kansas; Istanbul vs Anatolia; Paris vs. the Pyrenees. I lived 17 years in New York. Tourists get in the way.

My partner told me that Italians are really grumpy and difficult as customers. They don't like speaking in English and demand the employees that cooperate with them to be fluent in Italian. Geez!

I've travelled throud 42 countries on 5 of the 7 continents. The rudest countries were (and probably still are): USA (Hawaii) and Jamaica. Of course I've met friendly people, too, in those countries but compared with the other 40 countries there are more rude people.
I can believe Italians. My brother in law is Italian and treats me like crap.

Turkey is not rude at all.
It all depends on what to consider to be rude. Because not all the people are walking around smiling with the broadest smile to everyone. There are different perceptions of what to be rude and to be nice. If you consider that the person who is smiling at you and cheating you at the same time is nice, then isn't it more disgusting than the rude person who just says you the truth as it is? Those who are considered to be rude just tell you the truth as it is without sugarcoating. Meanwhile those who seem nice and friendly might be not sincere at all trying to cheat you. So your perception of being rude depends on the culture you are brought in and on what you were taught about it.
