  1. Greeting’s Grandma! Well this is definitely something I never heard of. I think I would like it since it has garlic in it and I think that’s a great idea to add the cheese. My father was Italian but he never mentioned it. Yes! The fresh bread would be good with it as well. It does seem like it would be nutritious as well.
I hope you are both enjoying summer and that you will have a wonderful 4th celebration with fireworks 💥. I am having the traditional fair: potato salad, deviled eggs, root beer, Hebrew national hotdogs (I only eat and trust them 😊), sirloin burgers, BBQ chicken, but also lobster and shrimp on the grill. Thank you for making this video and sharing it with all of us. God Bless you both and stay well ….. Brian

  2. This is so delicious,my Grandma would make this, she was my Mother's Mom and she was Italian, she made so many delicious recipes, thank you for this one, love you Grandma and Grandpa and Kittys❤

  3. My mother used that in Italian Wedding soup. And a garlic and bean dish also. So very good for you! 🥣🥬😋👍❤️

  4. I made the dandelion and bean dish for my family and it was delicious. This will be my next one I try.

  5. My Italian uncle made his wine in his tub and he would give bottles out at Christmas but when questioned about where he showered he said he used that tub I just couldn’t try the wine picturing him showering above it. Reminded me of your neighbor

  6. Ha, I was thinking that a nice bread would go well with this. I assumed it could be made into a soup like nettles but I'd be happy with just some garlicky greens and beans on bread, probably would have cost almost nothing. Thanks for the video Grandma and Grandpa, hope you have a great 4th of July.

  7. The looks delicious! Happy 4th Grandma, Grandpa and Lucky! Hopefully it will be more of a celebration in a couple years. Now no one I know has money to celabrate anything, much less the 4th, worse than the 70's when this happened. Anyway, thanks for the recipe!

  8. Mmmm! That looks very nice, Grandma!!! I'll have to give that a go!! 🥰👍🏻

  9. I ❤love and appreciate your channel, healthy, frugal and yummy. I already mentioned but let me say it again your voice and accent is so beautiful to hear. Your sweet energy and interaction with Grandpa adds so much to the content !!!
Please continue to share with us all of your precious knowledge, thoughts and ideas! We need it ! ❤

  10. That looks really yummy and dead simple, I'll have to try it for myself soon! Thank you for sharing, Grandma, hope you and Grandpa are doing wonderfully! ^_^

  11. Hi Grandma and Grandpa, and a very Happy 4th to you both! The plate in the thumbnail looks absolutely delicious! My grandmother and aunt used to use escarole frequently (and to a lesser degree on this one, my Mom–just because we had so many other things on the farm). My favorite way to use it is even more simply, in chicken broth, with "egg rags" (scrambled eggs drizzled then stirred in), and a hearty sprinkle of Romano cheese over the top.
I really hope this humidity and smoke breaks — I'm roasting and dripping in the house.🥵 Been keeping the windows and doors mostly closed to keep the particulates out. No soup for me in this weather, for sure! Will try to make it outside tomorrow to throw a couple hamburgers on the grill. Hope you all enjoy your day!🇺🇲🌭🏖️🎆

  12. It’s funny how greens are regional. When I visit family in Philly, escarole is available at any grocery. When I return to northern Virginia, there’s no escarole anywhere. Not even at Whole Foods. Only kale, collards, and spinach.

So I’ll probably use spinach until I can get some escarole again.

  13. This looks good ! I have some baby spinach I need to use in the fridge……and some arugala in my garden. I'm going to combine them to make this. Thanks for this great, healthy idea !
