  1. I might be in the minority here, but I've always been disappointed with deli subs because they're invariably never anywhere near the level of what I make at home. I made a set of subs for a canoeing day trip at home before leaving in the morning, and as we were enjoying them in the sunshine with our canoes pulled ashore for lunch, I couldn't help but think that no deli in the world would dream of assembling a sandwich of that level of quality and decadence that I had assembled from leftovers and scraps in my fridge.

  2. You can buy the ovens that Subway use to toast their buns. It's an airfryer-microwave combo that hits the perfect balance between heat and crispiness

  3. I'm just going to go out on a limb without having seen the video and say it's the sugar in the bread, fat content and seasonings.

  4. ive never been more jealous. i will forever be salty it's you that's eating this and not me

  5. at subway before proofing, we slice 4 diagonal slices on top to make the famous bread look . the italian herb seasoned walmart hogie uncut matches subways flavor pretty close too. another thing that is important is too much oil and vinegar can ruin a sub very quickly. toasting the spinach with olive oil and parmesan cheese was a must, the chipotle toasted is great too before the meats go in

  6. Fat on top and bottom; Don't put slippery stuff in the middle; manage your meat; add texture with vegetables. That's how I do it.

  7. I only came here to say Delli subs are garbage compared to home made sandwiches. Don't plan to watch the video thumbs down for the tittle alone.

  8. great video but damn do I hate the word hogie. Sounds like what rednecks would referee to a pig or their "thing"

  9. Damn, my man just you’re intro peaked my interest mostly because I agree with much of what you said but that sandwich my guy, yes!!! Gave me an appetite

  10. My mom always has me make her sandwiches cause she says i make the best sandwiches and this is why

also another pro tip: if you're using white sandwich bread, TOAST YOUR BREAD even if its just a light toast. it will help keep it together if it gets too wet. and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS cut sandwich bread diagonally. dont keep it whole and for the love of all that is sandwich DONT CUT IT HOTDOG STYLE YOU ANIMAL lol

  11. I really miss my Philly Italian hoagies. Can you believe Cali doesn’t have much like this? I found maybe two and they never heard the word hoagie before. it’s like subway style everywhere 🤢

  12. I might be old school I like smoked ham and mustard on white bread last me 3 week ❤❤❤
