  1. 711 in A class is criminal; easy S. saizeriya is the worst chain i've had in japan. Cocos is goated. sukiya is definitely S, torikizoku S. alot of us enjoyed mister donut, at least B. family mart and lawsons A. If the group was out and needed to pick up food and supplies 7/11, family, and lawson never missed.

  2. ファストフードかどうか分からないけどPepper Lunchがないだと?😭😭😭

  3. Honestly Japanese pizza chains can go f**k themselves 🤣🤣🤣 pizza-la and Shaky Pizza are a nightmare, and dominos is similar to America’s (not that great) and is like 30 bucks for “medium” (actually small) pizza. Pizza Hut is similar to Dominos and every other Italian restaurant in Japan that has pizza, the pizza tastes like paper with ketchup (but admittedly good mozzarella) I don’t GET IT 😭😭😭

  4. I'm with you guys on so many of these but saizerya is absolutely F tier. it's complete trash.

  5. I think Freshness Burger is the best fast food burger in Japan. And I've had them all. Great fried chicken sandwich too!
McDonaldo is probably 2nd on the strength of their breakfast selection and prices. Japanese Mcd is like 40% cheaper than in the US.
I honestly think that all the American-style pizza chains in Japan (Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Shakeys, Pizza-La, etc) are terribad. There are a lot of really great pizza places out there that are among the best in the world though, but they are all more towards the Italian style and not the American style of the spectrum though.

I think Matsuya is probably the best out of the three Gyudon chains, but I go to Sukiya more, just because there are more of them around.

I think that this list missed out on a lot of the non-gyudon donburi category, stuff like Tenya and Nakau, etc.

  6. Haven't visited most of the fast food chains, but from my short trip to Japan in January, I definitely prefer seikomart to the big 3 conbinis. They had a much larger selection of fresh foods and their hot case was a bit more diverse, including fried cheese curds

  7. In my 30 visits to Japan I've been to Mr Donut exactly once. Totally agree it's F tier. Some of the best foods were always these tiny little restaurants that I stumbled into. There are too many to name but I hope we can eventually highlights some of these hidden gems around the Tokyo metropolitan area.

  8. Kura Sushi is a terrible restaurant. I recommend Sushiro. Also, don't eat sushi unless it's blue fish or white fish that's been grilled or fried. It smells bad and many Japanese people don't eat it. We recommend the conger eel and steamed egg custard.

  9. Hey there! Love your content and I have a bit of a rabbit hole for you. I'm reading Haunted Japan, it's a book about Japanese cults and weirdos/mystics. One of them is Masaki Kazumi, a genius inventor who holds a substantial amount of various patents. He also claims to have achieved various supernatural powers. He sold a product on the 90s called パラメモリ2 or brain potentialiser para memory II. I'm trying to learn more about this weird thing, all I have found are auction photos of the thingy which looks like a Walkman. This stuff is listed on various what looks like bot/scam websites for like 20 000 yen. I don't speak or read Japanese so this is as far as I got, but maybe you'll find this to be a nice challenge 😀

  10. im canadian and i dont like western donuts anymore so i actually like Mister donuts when im craving donuts but dont want all that sugar

  11. I ate Coco like 7 out of the 15 days I visited Japan this year… def cream of the crop

  12. Haha! I never knew Shakeys still has other restos outside the Philippines. Here it’s like already part of our culture. Their thin crust pizzas (especially the manager’s choice) and mojo potatoes are legendary.

  13. i live in melbourne i'd love to know what those chinese places are 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

  14. My favorite "bowl" restaurant is Tokyo Chikara Meshi, even though their shop numbers recently dwindled dramatically

  15. Tried Ootoya for first time a couple months ago. Very good and wasn't too difficult to order. (Automated ordering can be difficult for visitors)

  16. HOT TAKE, CocoIchi is overrated and overpriced. Especially when there’s Indian/Nepalese curry restaurants pretty much everywhere that’ll serve for similar if not cheaper. And it often comes with all you can eat naan and free lassi drinks!

  17. My opinion:DONT you ever go to fast food shops.

Instead, go to privately owned restraunts.
Japan has tons of them and most of them are great.

  18. HI Japanalysis! Tempura Tendon Tenya was recommended to me recently, do you have any thoughts on this chain? Thanks!

  19. I used to go to CoCoIchi multiple times a week, but for some reason it's moved down a bit for me. I know this is happening everywhere right now, but I feel the inflation/shrinkflation effect has been particulary noticeable at Coco. As far as cheap fast food goes my go-tos are Matsuya and McDonalds right now.

  20. Even Dunkin Donuts is disappointing 99% of the time.

Cambodian donut shops are the top tier in the world.
    If you know, you know.

  21. Is there a way to access the ranking chart? I'm going to Japan soon so want to look up locations for some of these. I looked at the Discord and couldn't find it although I'm new to Discord. Thanks for the analysis!

  22. This ranking is shit. What a waste of time. I hope this channel gets banned.
