How Wine is Made in Bordeaux
Step by step explanation
A fun documentary @ Chateau Haut Goujon in Saint Emilion
https://chateauhautgoujon.com/en/home/

Harvesting Grappes was my 1st job and to be able to go through the process of what it takes to make wine is something we have both wanted to do for a long time
We are so lucky that Valerie & Michael said yes and let us film this special process

What it takes to make a good wine is a lot of hard work & dedication and so much love ❤️ for what you do .
Valerie & Mickael do give their all to make amazing wines and some are even without sulphites
Their hard work paid off and they got awarded by #decanter
All of this whilst launching a new blend and special cuvée called #monbouquet
Needless to say the wine is amazing

  1. I harvested cold climate grapes, developed at U of Minnesota, one September a few years ago.
We clipped them & dropped them in crates.
Star Prairie is a table grape that's quite tasty, so is whatever version of a Gris they have at Crow River Winery .
They have several varieties of cold climate grapes.
One year they did a short run of dandelion wine, buying buds for $10 a pound, which was a gallon zip lock bag that one could fill every 20 minutes.
    = $30 an hour.

  2. One of the most interesting vlogs I have seen ..so well done Ed and Anna filming … I thought I was watching a TV documentary it was that good you guys ,! 🥰👏Bravo ❤

  3. Loved watching this process. It’s definitely a special science making wine and worth every penny. Love the labels and the process of filling the bottles with the wine. It looked like a dance! Thank you for making this video. I wonder if I can find this wine in the states. xx

  4. Wow! What a process I feel a bit guilty now as we go through about 3 or 4 bottles of wine a week. And it’s just the two of us. Mind you we only drink it at dinner. Thank you Ed that was an insight

  5. I thoroughly enjoyed this vlog. I’ve always been very good at consuming wine, and know a little something about wine itself (all the trips to a cellar door for wine tasting), but didn’t know a lot about the wine making process, so thank you. I live between two wine making regions in Western Australia.

  6. Thank you Ed and Anna for taking us on this voyage that wine making is! My family and I spent 20 years in California growing grapes (mostly for sale as grapes) and making what we called garage wine but it was excellent. We grew Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel (that one was in a different area than the other 3). We processed about 2 tons of grapes each year for our own use and for giving. Such awesome memories and watching your video brought all of them back! 🍷 🍷

  7. Loved every second of this vlog. I watched it with a nice glass of wine, appreciated it even more. My fellow countryman Ilja Gort (dutch) from Chateau La Tulipe in Bordeaux got me into wine drinking. His YouTube video's showed me how complex producing quality wine is. Your video is just as awesome, really going into the details and art of winery. Keep it going!

  8. So glad I finally got the chance to see this video! (I work customer service during the holidays). Thank you for sharing this video, or anything wine related as I’ve had an interest in the process and would hope to someday convince the family to start our own vineyard, or at least one can wish. 🍷

  9. Thank you Edd and Anna. My brother and I have made wine for our family at our home in Virginia for most of our life. It's great to see it done at scale. Very inspirational. Sincerely,

  10. Great episode! 👏👏👏

Really adds to your regular content as we see so much wine throughout your production.

  11. No give away bottles??? From 🍷 winery? Well I never saw any tasting either. I guess this wine is the $50 ,BOTTLE.

  12. What a wonderful gift you have given us. Thanks to Edd, Anna, Michael and Valerie. Amazing. May God continue to bless you.

  13. FYI all wines have sulfites/sulfate and that is normal yeast generates it and it is desirable to prevent spoilage and oxidation which will ruin wine.

  14. What is happening to French wine. Relative recent vintages seem to lack body or be more acidic. I assume that the climate has become more North African that the grapes are ripening prematurely or holding lass moisture.
