when I tried Barolo first time, I knew Nebbiolo was my grape instantly 😅
Sanadaive Barbaresco by Adriano is GREAT GREAT value for money. In that price range the best I've tried. I also tried his Basarin Riserva 2016 and it was extremely interesting but tannic and "closed" beyond comprehension, once I could get through the tannins and it opened up a bit it was a great experience.
Hey Matt, I bought those wine glasses and really like them!
almost impossible to get a decent barbaresco for 30 in miami! i will try to find this croatian wine though

How about giving Primitivo where the credit is due. Starting about 150 tears ago Italian Americans started using Zinfandel from California the same grape as Primitivo almost exclusively for their home wine cellars and it didn't just fall to earth. If the coast of Dalmatia looks so Italian it is because it was Italian. Slavs didn't 'start' moving into what became Croatia-Slovenia-Dalmatia until the 8th century and didn't begin to have a presence there until centuries after pushing Italians into the sea. By that time the language of the population was evolving from Latin to Medieval Italian and continued to be Italian because of the Venetian presence. They can call it whatever they want, but it doesn't make it so. Usually your topics are interesting and uncontroversial, but this is a topic which is still highly sensitive for Italians. In the 20th century alone over a quarter million Italians were expelled from their homes and perhaps scores of thousands executed. Not surprisingly Italian-Americans at the same time were vilified for being wine drinkers something considered Un-American. It seems that we are always the convenient bogeyman.
I love Plavac Mali! I tried it for the first time a few months ago and it blew me away!
Love the face-off episodes!!
Great one again… not sure the alcohol percentage is making a big difference – often it's all about the balance… good farming, and nice winemaking – you can get a 13% that is way worse and more agressive than a 15% alcohol wine
