We are in the land of Brunello di Montalcino: at the top of Montalcino, land of wines, there is Sanlorenzo Winery, situated on the South-West slope of the municipality of Montalcino at an altitude of 500 metres on the ridge of the hills which stretch softly from Civitella to the Ombrone river.
This is a unique context, made by a very special terrain: Luciano Ciolfi, who now runs this winery with a long family tradition, describes its main features in this video. Galastro, a shale based soil found in the Tuscany, together with the equally widespread limestone and the typical microclimate of this area, characterises the growth of Sangiovese. There are 7 hectares in total, all Sangiovese, the first planted in 1972, and the last in 2018.
Wines produced in Sanlorenzo Winery are: Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosato IGT Toscana and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG.
Enjoy the images from this beatiful part of Tuscany, and
… SALUTE SEMPRE SALUTE!
