Today we are trying out the character buffet inside Magic Kingdom, where we have never eaten before but have heard great things! The Crystal Palace is home to breakfast, lunch, and dinner with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet! While not the cheapest meal in the Magic Kingdom, it is just across the hub from Cinderella Castle, has some pretty incredible food options (think Prime Rib and Peel-and-Eat Shrimp). Enjoy!

Can’t wait to watch 😃 honestly had one of the most enjoyable meals here back in 2019 – and it really was just a chicken sandwich from what I remember 🤣 a lovely couple of ladies on the next table we’re about to head home as it was the end of their holiday and they offered us their dessert as they were going to share and had a credit left to use 🥰 was so kind of them 🥰 really interested to watch to see if it has changed 😃 xxxxx ps Pooooooooh! 🐻🍯 xxxxx
The timing of the characters is definitely off. I waited 20 minutes after we were done eating waiting for Pooh. We ended up leaving without seeing him.
So glad to hear the food is good for a buffet. We'll be there in 32 days (not that I'm counting) for lunch and I can't wait to finally see Tigger! I just hope that he comes out first as I like the other characters but Tigger is my favorite.
I think the most important thing is to set an expectation of at least 90 minutes dining time for character meals to be able to see all the characters, especially at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. It works out well for our family since we don't leave the parks, and use our sit down lunch followed by a show as "our rest". But your mileage may vary. 🤷♀️ We're also big-time character people so Not having to wait in a long line or use a lightning lane is a good enough perk for us and makes the cost more "justifiable" (in my crazy 🤪 Disney brain anyway ). $60 is about average for lunch/dinner character dining at Disney. Breakfast is a bit cheaper. That being said this one is Not a favorite of ours, but if we're eating in MK it's usually either here, Liberty Tree Tavern or Skipper's Canteen. We definitely favor Garden Grill, Topolino's, Traterina(think this one is still closed for characters) and Tusker House for our character dining fixes. But I'm glad you had an overall enjoyable experience.
Agree with your review. Even at Disneyland, we ate Storytellers at Grand Cali character brunch, and we did not see Dale, We saw Mickey several time, Minnie and Chip, but never Dale. The manager even came to us, and said they make their rounds, and it would be another 30 minutes before we would see Dale. It was close to 90 minutes, total we seated for our character meal. We frequent Disneyland, so this was not a big deal, but to someone else, it could have been frustrating. FOr 51 dollars a person, you should see all the characters.
I remember when crystal palace, Character meal was 19.99 for dinner!! I remember my parents and I eating here, in the late 90's. Now, for the price and quality, we will eat somewhere else.
How were the desserts? Leslie mentioned liking the butterscotch pudding, but I didn't hear anything about the rest. I'm assuming that means that you were underwhelmed? Okay, you tell us that you are not really drawn to Pooh and the gang, but then Dan breaks into a somewhat obscure Pooh song. LOL. BTW, he has a good voice! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
just discovered your channel- kinda love your format!!!! this was so fun to watch!
Another great succinct review. Thanks guys!! I think the best value and quality buffet character meal is 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian especially if you time your reservation for late morning – you’re full for the rest of the day! Lol
As an adult I am cringing that my mom spent that money when we went for me to only have mac n cheese… the things we do for Disney!!!!
I was just informed by my daughter that when we go to Disney next week she wants to see you guys, and also thinks that you each should be a squishmallow 😂😂😂
Can you confirm characters are at each meal now? I have a 4:30 reservation, but only breakfast reads as ‘Character Buffet.’ Thanks in advance!
At a buffet if character came to your table and you missed them, it will take hour for them to make it back, I opened that restaurant as a character and trust me, that’s a hard place to get around !!!
You cannot time characters, lol tabled determine the time and yes it takes 90:)
Again
Nobody understands character rotation
And you were warned 90min
We went right before Covid in 2020. The food was pretty good, but the character timing wasn’t good either. We were waiting so long for Pooh to finally come around that we would miss the fireworks, so we left without seeing Pooh (knowing we would see him the next morning at 1900 Park Fare.) With your ratings though, if you aren’t a big drinker, it would be close to a 4/5. And if you have kids who love Pooh (as do I!), it’s a good option!
It is a lovely looking restaurant and perfect location, we ate here many years ago and enjoyed it loads, wow expensive these days need to eat loads and loads thx for reviewing oh poo and piglet so cute they reached out for a cuddle 🤗
I love the crystal palace it your typical buffet but the charcters make it fun
Thank you for all the dining reviews! I love them every week 🙂
