Here’s a basic recipe for traditional lasagna:

Ingredients:

9 lasagna sheets (fresh or dried)
1 pound (450g) ground beef or Italian sausage
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz/400g) crushed tomatoes
1 can (6 oz/170g) tomato paste
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the lasagna sheets according to the package instructions until they are al dente. Drain them and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until they become soft and translucent.

Add the ground beef or Italian sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld together.
