Video captured the moment a purse-snatching incident ended in gunfire at a Culver City restaurant. Police are searching for at least three suspects involved in the coordinated theft.

Authorities said the incident happened on May 14 at Akasha where a woman’s purse was stolen from the back of her chair as she was dining.

“It was really upsetting,” said Alan Schulman, the co-owner of Akasha. “It’s upsetting and it’s a violation. And on Mother’s Day? Really? Come on.”

As a suspect wearing a dark hoodie approaches the woman’s chair, he quickly snatches the hanging purse and sprints away.

  1. Everyone should by a gun and get trained on how to use it, also learn about laws regarding self defense, some states don't allow you to defend themselves, you are considered to be the criminal and the criminal is considered to be the victim. The left is here and not on your side. 🦸‍♀️

  2. Akasha provides catering services for post production companys in Santa Monica where Lead Editors make day rates of 2000 a day.

  3. They need to start doing bait purses so these clowns will be embarrassed and shamed by the nation for their poor life choices and then hopefully become a person and build a life worth living instead of robbing patrons on Mothers Day, I'm sure their mothers are so proud of the men their son's are becoming..

  4. That cop is a puss puss. Trying to blame the victim not the criminal. Wonder why L.A is crap there you go….

  5. Never ever put your purse behind your chair hello , this guy could have lost his life chasing that bum for a purse that you can replace, credit card can be replaced, IDs can be replaced but life can’t.

  6. A lot of these thieves are not after the money inside, cause these days people just don't carry money. They are going after the expensive resale on the purse. The guy is lucky the thieves wasn't trying to kill anyone, but trying to get away.

  7. When I was homeless I didn’t steal this is pathetic how immature. Wow and on Mother’s Day sick

  8. So nice to know that here in CA criminals can have guns and it was the lady’s fault that she had her purse there let’s keep blaming the victim nice. I don’t know about you but I am negative 24 in my account and I’m not taking peoples purses. I just can’t with these lose**

  9. Stop dining in cities that defund the police and have a DA that releases them without bond. These businesses and communities voted for it, then they should suffer the lack of business and fail.
LA just reinstated no cash bail, so it is going to get worse.

  10. Husband is totally at fault tho!! Women ALWAYS sit inside away from traffic/pedestrains for their safety.

  11. Smh 😒.. Im black street dude an STILL watch out for these foos

  12. Usual suspects at it again. The ONLY deterrent is to cut off the entire family from section 8 and ebt when they commit crimes. Baby mommas everywhere will keep them straight

  13. Dumb to hang your purse in plain sight, dumber to go after the criminal who stole it. That guy is lucky he didn’t get shot. Keep your purse in your lap and never chase crazy for something worth less than your life!
