Home of so many Italian classics, Bari Italy food is incredible – whenever we are in Naples having a pizza, Rome having a carbonara or in Bologna having a spaghetti bolognese our thoughts always get back to the focaccia from Panificio Fiore in Bari. The focaccia from there is simply incredible, point in that direction by food insider, we thought it could be another spot ruined by popularity. You can see the line up in our thumbnail – the line is pretty consistent, but differing from other food spots we have been to in Italy that have lost quality due to popularity this was the best thing we have eaten.

It is not even the most popular food that Bari is known for orecchiette is the pasta that this region is known for – meaning small ear, these pastas are beautiful little cup looking things. And it is here that you can stroll down orecchiette street, a street in which the nonnas are all out on the street making orecchiette in front of their houses selling to passers by. When we checked in we were told specifically where to buy our orecchiette, it is a serious business in Bari.
