From Ancient Greece, to Roman Emperor Trajan, to the Sultans of the Ottoman Empire, to city centers commissioned by Kings, the history of the mall dates back to the inception of some of the worlds greatest empires to ever rule. Today we explore the birthplace of the shopping mall, and trace its lineage all the way up to the present.

I went to that mall in Milan when it had a McDonalds. Beautiful place.
Sad how far we've fallen
Love ur content. They really have gotten ugly
Can we un-invent cars?
I really like the first part of the video – talking about the history, though I still don't know why the modern malls have fallen, and look like that, I miss the explanatory part :/
Love your vids bro
Imo the exterior of shopping centers depends on location it is built on. For example Wroclavia in the middle of Wrocław (in Poland) is huge but it doesn't look like a metal cube to me.
I don't think the modern shopping mall can be blamed on the automobile, but is rather the result of American postwar urban planning, vis a vis suburbs and highway systems. Honestly, if we had any arcades like that where I live I'd prefer to shop there.
