I’m so curious…are you lead testing some of the old plates, glasses, etc. I LOVE antique items, but have learned to be cautious after finding lead in super simple items. Years ago I was told I should test my window blinds. Definitely NOT an antique item, but something I was not aware I should be worried about. One of my blinds had lead. I was told I did not have to suck on them to have an issue. Lead dust can build up, and you can inhale/ingest the bad dust and hurt yourself and/or others.

You definitely need king beds in the cottages. People want to stay somewhere nice but my family is more than willing to give up a little “pretty” for comfort. Except for me everyone is very tall and would not be comfortable in even a queen.

I know you’re looking for kings. Would you’re dad be able to replicate an old iron style bed frame? I’m not sure his skill level, but personally I love a rod iron.

Hi Macenna, about the plates color, it's the opposite of what you think… the lighter dishes were cleaned in the dishwasher, which removes part of the color due to the powdered soap, the others were probably not used as much.
as someone who stays in airbnbs frequently, i have never been turned away from the bed size! rather, I would choose to stay in an airbnb because it's special, like having an antique bedframe would be special!!! if i really just wanted a king size bed i would book a hotel!

Your mom’s eye surgery reminded me of my mom. I drove her home after her cataract surgery. She still had the bandages on over her eye and she was looking around as we drove home. She sighed like she was real irritated and said “I can’t tell a difference at all!” I was like “mom, you have a patch over your eye. Of course you can’t tell!” Lol.
Those chairs are so beautiful in the space. I didn't see it when you bought them, but they are so pretty in their new home. Gorgeous.
