disney should add more dining options to satisfy demand.
The only way I would be okay with planning genie plus and lightning lane early would be to be able to book that stuff in the evening before you go to the parks, i understand not wanting to wake up at 7am to book stuff but I don’t want to see people weeks and months in advance being able to take up all the lightning lanes and stuff.
explain to me why they don't bring back magical express and package delivery. Literally this is good for their business and the customers. They get every vacation dollar I am spending if they provide transportation, and I buy more stuff in the parks if I don't have to carry it
riddle me that
great on everything..mayb I will go back in 2024
I think that it’s nearly back to the way it was, but there are still many things that need to change. I like that park reservations are going away for some visitors, but if I am staying at a Disney resort (as I always do) there should be no restrictions on my entry or park hopping. Most of the time we are staying ten or more days, so dated tickets end up costing more than annual passes. Not only that, but annual passes afford the opportunity for a visit again during the same year. I would say that as long as there is a Disney resort booking involved (including DVC bookings) you really shouldn’t be limiting your guests access to the theme parks.
Before we had kids, we would frequently park hop throughout the day. After we had kids, we still did it and also added nap time and cool downs at the pool. Now that they’re grown, the park hopping option is back in full force. The only thing stopping us are the restrictions. We used to hop all day long on most days. As parks neared capacity, we would hop to a park with less people. We would sometimes do this within a few minutes of entering a park and often before Noon. With less people going now, really shouldn’t have any park hopping restrictions other than hopping to a park that is at capacity.
The dining plan is not something that we ever used. Our first few trips included free character meals, but that was the extent of us using any kind of dining package. Being that we have visited so many times, are DVC members, and are familiar with the surrounding areas, it’s not as important. We do one meal out per day and the rest are in the room as we always have access to a full kitchen.
Changes are slowly being made to bring back the “old magic”. There are many things that are still missing that need to come back, most importantly is cast members. The parks and resorts are still understaffed. The biggest thing that needs to end is outsourcing, to much money is being wasted by continuing this practice. Internal employees are always going to bring more to the table, and in the long run, be the most cost effective. Everything in the Disney parks used to be done by Disney employees including construction and maintenance. If you want to be the best, then have the best work for you. It was always the way to go in the past and I never had any complaints about anything in the parks (other than wait times) when all the cast members were fully employed by Disney.
Remember, people will pay more for quality and as long as it’s there, complaints will be at a minimum. Bob Chapek tried to make Disney just another theme park, that was his downfall. The current management should not be taking cues from anything that was instituted while he was CEO, including Genie+.
Disney is already the most expensive theme park experience, I can’t justify paying for shorter lines…especially when this used to be free of charge when Universal was charging. All this says to me is that Disney doesn’t want to separate themselves from the other parks in the region.
There’s more room for profits when you aren’t charging more for the attractions. When we were paying $50 to enter the parks, we would spend $1,000 on food and souvenirs each. Now that it’s over $100 per day, no souvenirs and hardly any food in the parks. So because they raised the cost to get in, they actually get less of my money.
We hardly used the Fast Pass system when that was around and it was free, I can’t see paying extra for a service that I hardly used and was free.
Bottom line, and thus is strictly my own opinion, if Disney wants the lion’s share…they have to do much better. Their parks used to stand out because they had the most experienced workforce, the most even dispositioned staff, the most advanced attractions, the most efficient park flow, the most efficient queuing system, the best entertainment outside of the attractions, the cleanest parks, the most attractive hotels, and the best dining in the region. Unfortunately for them, they’re not the tops in all of these anymore.
There’s very stiff competition from Universal right now and if Disney wants to be back on top, they have to justify the cost of the Disney experience. Right now, I think they fall short. They are not justifying the cost of what I am getting. If they want to be successful, they have to stop making the mistakes of the past. The 1980s were a tough time for Disney, the 2020s are shaping up to be the same.
Bob Iger is continuing to work his magic- rolling back unpopular changes made busy the previous regime….
Hi Tom, do you know what is happening with the jedi academy at Hollywood studio? That hasn't returned since the pandemic.
Both need to stop talking and come together. Bob Iger is also no saint. Disney should have lost reedy creak long time ago. Bob Iger should negotiate with the state of Florida instead of suing. You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
Good to have you back, Tom.😊 Wow park reservations going away, slowly, Dinning packages making a comeback, I’m all giddy inside. LOL😅
Mole Near? NO! Mole FAR!
The dining plan is a moneymaking scam. When it was implemented years ago, the plan allowed for $250 for meals. Disney immediately raised the price of food. I went to Epcot Morocco restaurant and VEGETARIAN cous cous was $25!!!
I would like to see better benefits for resort guests.
Disney needs to open up 1900 park fare now
Now they just need to bring back delivering souvenirs to rooms on property. Still there are some wins here for sure.
Great move by Disney amending their lawsuit since DeStupid can’t keep his criminal, moronic, fascist mouth shut. Only in Floriduhh!
Great about no reservation, but what about park hopping restrictions? Remove those and I might not feel like the guest is accommodating the service provider.
😜 Every day the DeSantis vs Disney news gets just a little bit stranger than the day before. 🤐Let him keep talking…making Disney legal team very happy. 😆
I’m sure the fact that WHO announced officially the pandemic is over didn’t hurt either since now they don’t have that excuse to use.
Maybe Disney should've stayed neutral and stay out of politics. This all could've been avoided.
retaliatory or not, he's not the one in the hotseat here. DISNEY is, the ones who have a graveyard of skeletons to keep hiding is them. And Iger too didn't know to stop talking. But legally, Disney's suit is baseless and would fail under Florida law, and that's why they're attempting a Federal court (which has NO jurisdiction), and in a different state. They know they're wasting time.
The theory is they're trying to run the clock on Desantis's term, because it's DISNEY that is poised to not only lose, but lose A LOT MORE than they think they will.
Damn I just booked my trip for the end of 2023 and I got excited for a second 😂 Oh well, at least it’ll start feeling a little more like Disney again with them backing off some of this stuff/ dining plan coming back
This what I don’t get about the Republicans who are on DeSantos’ side still. I don’t see this as Ronny fighting for going woke. I see this as a Company had a differ opinion than the senator and the senator is destroying them for it. Why would any corporation CEO want to take that chance with a Senator like that? It’s lgbt politics now, but what if it’s something those companies believe at some point that DeSantos is against? He has a history of coming after the biggest of companies in the US, if not the world. What will it take to go after their companies if he has a hurt feeling one day?
Glad to see the beginning of the dismantling of the reservation system, but there are still so much Chapek era lesions to be removed, most notably, the horrendous Genie+. For what Disney charges, the "free" fast-pass needs to return to the parks, as well as Disney's Magical Express for guests staying on site. Disney needs to show a little appreciation for their guests, because there are a lot more options than there used to be for family vacations. Oh, and F*CK DeSantis.
Plug into an islands power grid to increase their emissions for electricity generation. Insane all and all there is nothing gained It’s just a game companies are playing
8:50 – Have you watched Legal Mindset’s coverage of this? He used to do special district law in Florida. Seems like Disney is the one that needs to be careful. They keep pushing. Maybe they need to stop talking. I think that this whole situation was unnecessary and unfortunate. Disney should never have started this down this path and now THIS will be Iger’s legacy… opening the company up to further suits and costing them countless dollars.
Fart
Having guests be able to make their genie plus reservations ahead of time….oh, you mean like fast passes were minus the extra cost???
I hope there are plans to put an Avengers Campus in Orlando.
Finally watched one of your videos again because I figured it would be a full episode on the new announcements….without political talk. Sadly, I was mistaken. The whole Disney vs DeSantis stuff is getting old. 👎🏻
Apparently people can't stand the truth. Get rid of these disgusting men dressing up as women at Disney. It's revolting.
I just found out that dvc members will not be able to get the Disney dining plan seriously another we don’t care about you dvc
DeSantis needs to decide weather he is going to run for president or either fight Disney and remain governor history teaches you can not fight a war on 2 fronts example hitler and the third rich either way he is will lose the fight Disney or trump he can’t fight both and expect to win
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that before they halted the DDP, the standard plan offered 1 table, 1 quick and 2 snacks that replaced the previous 1 snack and 1 dessert after parents complained about too many desserts. Looks like we lost a snack and im sure the price will be higher.
Now bring back the magic express.
Whoo, Disney Dining Plan! Did they downsize it or am I remembering wrong? I thought there were more snacks per day.
They can do this again because they are hitting their numbers not out of desperation.
Thank you for your updates, Tom.
We still have a few days remaining on “Never Expire” passes we purchased the last year they were available. I have a feeling we’ll probably be on the same guide as Annual Pass-holders regarding reservations.
Is it that hard for Bob to say alll Magic Hours should be for all resorts
This is Disney trying to recover from universal
Hooray for reservations going away!!!
Hope they stop detheming
Could you please clarify what you said about park hopping before 2:00?
Desantis is a min Putin..makes and changes rules to benefit himself…dangerous! Careful what you ask for Floridians!!
The reservation system was a grab in the air to try to look like they were doing something. ITS A JOKE ! and a horrible inconvenience to the guests.
di$ney did this to the guests on purpose.
Other places have the days scheduled when bookings are made. There are no park reservations. It is done when the booking is made with the number of guests tallied during the booking.
they fill the park through bookings and later by drive ups, and determined by the numbers buying tickets
After the max number of guests have bought tickets, the park is filled and they turn the rest away. What the heck was di$ney thinking???
There are no reseverations at these parks. It was never needed. It was just another bad idea that di$ney had and it has gone terribly wrong when guests come to the park from over seas and they cannot get in because they didn't get a reservation. Something that should have been done when they booked the trip and or when a walkup family bought tickets to the park. THAT is how it should be done.
Just another di$ney fiasco that is going to burn them.
