Ingredients:
1 pound pizza dough
1/2 cup tomato sauce
8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
Fresh basil leaves
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and place a baking sheet or pizza stone in the oven to heat up.
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper that’s slightly larger than the pizza.
Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a little bit of space around the edges for the crust.
Place the sliced mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
Drizzle the pizza with the olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Slide the pizza (along with the parchment paper) onto the preheated baking sheet or pizza stone in the oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle fresh basil leaves on top.
Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
