Waar heeft de ontwerper aan gedacht toen hij/zij dit ontwerp tekende? Wat een lelijkheid! Gelukkig kunnen we een Sprinter of ICE nemen …
Wow. That's expensive! I paid €56-ish for a first class ticket from the top of the Netherlands to the west in Belgium! (Straight to Rotterdam, then Antwerp, then to the west).

It is a shame that the only language used in the dutch trains is dutch…not worthy of a country to pretend to be a technology/financial HUB in Europe.
Doesnt really matter… NS gonna be NS, ProRail gonna do ProRail…. If the they are not late or cancelled, they will instead be so overcrowded with ppl that you dont want be in them.
who knows what happened to the fyra's after being sent back to italy? Have they been redeployed elsewhere? Sold to another country? fixed and put in use locally?

I would never understand why there is a first and a second class in a regional train that you use to commute to work. It is insulting for the normal people to go standing up when there are free seats in the first class.
Great video. One thing I have to disagree with: the old trains (the Traxx loc with ICR coaches) are notoriously unreliable, especially when going through a change of voltage or security system (which happens every time it enters and leaves a station, all the stations use 1500 V DC with ATB, while the HSL has 25000 V AC with ERTMS). This is why NS is prioritising their replacement with the ICNG. The ICM (an EMU that the ICNG is also supposed to replace) will remain in service until then, even though the oldest still running trains of that type are now 40 years old – much older than the TRAXX and about as old as the ICR.
FYI…Those are ticket kiosks…..

Beautiful trains! Romania will have this type of train soon too, the first is expected to arrive in December 2023 and is going to connect Bucharest to Constanta 😀
Ik blijf deze nieuwe trein maar oerlelijk vinden.
Alleen maar die livery al, doet mij denken aan een waterhoofdje.
Ik denk ook dat dat zijn bijnaam moet zijn.
De wesp of wasbeer vind ik meer een bijnaam voor de VIRM met de nieuwe livery.
Een andere bijnaam voor dit nieuwe gedrocht, zou de "Pugh" moeten zijn.
Voor die open koppeling aan de voorkant die op het platte neusje van het lelijke schepsel lijkt, wat voor een schattig hondje door het leven moet gaan, zijn lelijke uiterlijk en zijn veelste platte kop.
Vraag me af of deze trein ook kan ruften als een Pugh.
Maar goed het uiterlijk mag dan lelijk zijn, die binnenkant ziet er erg comfortabel uit.
Het smalle gangpad is wel onaangenaam, vooral als mensen hun lange poten in het gangpad pleuren.
Ik zou bijna expres ertegenaan schoppen, om ze wat manieren te leren, Je bent niet thuis!
Al met al is deze trein geëvolueerd tot een kleinkind van de hondekop "2000".
Dus ze hadden net zo goed de oude hondekop kunnen gebruiken, nieuw intérieurtje, paar nieuwe ramen, een paar keer tegen een muurtje knallen voor een kortere neus en voila, de nieuwe "pugh".
Dan toch maar liever de oude hondekop!
De ICE4, dat is pas een highspeed trein die er mag zijn.
Ik weet dat deze trein de oneerbiedige bijnaam "tandpastetube" heeft.
Maar met de nieuwe NS livery, zou deze wel heel mooi voor de dag kunnen komen.
Als ik dan toch treinen loop af te kraken, wanneer wordt nou eindelijk die lelijke Franse bordeau rood met grijze TGV in Nederland verboden.
Dat tweedehands oude materiaal hadden ze allang op de schroothoop moeten gooien.
Kijk alleen al naar het nieuwe materiaal waarmee de Fransen zelf op hun highspeel rail rijden.
Parkeer dat spul lekker in België!
Breng aub het 1700 en het 1800 materieel weer op de baan. Daar hadden vele machinisten veel meer plezier van. Een kleine update van de bestuurdersruimte en de livery, en ze zijn "good to go".
En moet die koploper wel zonodig de baan af?
Volgens mij kan er rustig nog 40 a 50 jaar mee worden doorgereden.
Geef ze een mooie voorkant, ramen, innerlijk en uiterlijk en je bent klaar.
T'is maar goed dat ik niet bij de NS werkt, ik zou er wel echt werk van maken.
En zeker niet als die droplol die de vira had aangeschaft!
Wat een blamage, een gênante afgang van je welste.
Ik zou als ik hem was, diep in een bunker onder de grond gaan schuilen.
En mijn rotkop nóóit meer laten zien!
Maar genoeg, snaveltjes dicht en oogjes toe.
Slaap lekker en droom zacht.
Why would they make the seats narrower? There was plwnty of room to expand them or at least keep them the same.
So the first and second class seats are of equal comfort and appearance apart from the colour which means you are paying extra to sit on a red seat instead of a blue one !
Sad thing about dutch train jorney is it gets over in short period maximum like 6 hours 😮😅from Stavoren (in Friesland, a province in the north-east) to either Vlissingen (in the south-west) or Kerkrade Centrum (south, near Maastricht)

Sorry but these new trains are SHIT!! There are hardly seats, due to the loungebar the 4 front facing seats sections. Instead of just rear facing seats.. this is really shitty for people who need to commute daily. The old ICD had allready a shortage of seats…
30 euro for a 40 mn trip. I swear ns is becoming a transport option for the rich and able only
It’s a shame that SNCF don’t develop these good trains with Alstom in France! We pay good money to ride in 40-year-old trains 😅
They're heavily dubsedized with taxpayer money but choose to invest our money in new trains (the "old" ones are more than fine) instead of improving their service by being on time or cleaning the trains they do have. Lowering the cost would also be much better than new trains. If you're lucky, your commute takes twice as long and costs twice as much compared to driving.

Alleen doen de deuren het nog niet. Maar dat er toch iets is wat niet deugt bij een nieuw ontwerp is ook een soort traditie.
Ugly loking those brutalist stern macho looking knof were much better.
what is it with Holland and "stressy in your face" colours… insane… Red seats in first? already then its not worth it. More downplayed and elegant would be prefered, but they do look really comfy!
It's way teardrop feeling to see train which You have been testing from the very beginning, since first fuse switched on till the end of cycle in factory. Long live IC8022!
