At Mugga Dosirak in South Korea, a team of three chefs and 15 staff members cook and package 10,000 lunch boxes every week by hand, and sell around 400,000 lunch boxes every year. We visited their kitchen to see how they prepare these meals in such big batches.
Editor’s Note: At 9:12, this video incorrectly states that each lunchbox costs 30,000 won. They actually cost 7,000 won. Insider regrets this error.

Geez all the plastic! yuck. Also, people should be encouraged to get out of the office for lunch. Office culture like this just makes people work till they die at their desk, which is especially prevalent in South Korea.
indians cant even do this hygeinically
i wish koreans were real
That was more than 3 cooks
30,000 KRW is 22 USD and 34 AUD…. not $5!
I have a very hard time believing that this meal costs $5! This would be in the high teens if not $20 where I live.
That sucks so bad if they really have to chop all those onions and carrots.
I do alot of chopping in my job and there's no way I could chop all those one at a time for this quantity.
Get a dicer for God sakes
?????? 30,000 won is NOT $5 ????
$5 for that is a rip off in asia .. Nobody actually likes those lunches
맛은 없어요 ㅋㅋㅋ 문제는 가격이 비싸다는거..
공짜로 주는거 아니였으며 나가서 사먹는게 맛과 가격이 훨남.
really need a iPad for few months because I have to practice lots of Problems but I have left if anyone can please provide me for this time I will surely return it after my studies
The kitchen is Not A.I driven . Offices are a.I driven . The office economy is America is over . This is good for kids meals
I would pay twice what they charge without question..looks amazing
Much respect for these guys. That's a lot of work! They probably forgot how to make a meal for 2 people.
What dedication to their craft! I loved seeing all the hand chopping, mixing, frying – instead of machines. Fresh ingredients. No cartons of liquid eggs there or frozen (except the buns, but that's ok).
~Beautiful food that I'd be happy to pay double the paltry $5! – I refused to even try ma po tofu when I was a kid, now I love it.
Watching this while working at a job that offers half-off meals for team members, but the entree's start at $25-35. Taking a break means you get behind on work.
I've spent the last 5 months living off of homemade trail mix and protein bars/shakes.
How is 30,000 won 5USD when the exchange rate is like 1,300
Meanwhile the cafeteria of my workplace sells hotdogs, and bagels. 🙁
I want to subscribe too
I used to do the same shit for 200-300 people a day nothing better then making peoples food for them
lmao thats like 20 bucks in aus
😅mean while in the uk it’s £3.50 for a sandwich 😢
Look, I abbsolutely accept that a skilled chef/cook can prep faster than a food processor in a restaraunt or home kitchen environment, but for 40 kG of onions, is it REALLY not faster and more efficient to use a machine? IF not, then at what amount of food to be prepped is it more economical?
Korean dabbawalla
for 5$ in india you can eat unlimited healthy food but you need to go to resturants
wow the rice cooked in only 30 minutes for that large batch
I like how he felt the need to specify that the stirring shovel is not used for dirt
misleading.. there are more than 3 people working there
How is 30.000 won equals to $ 5???? 😭 I just checked and it should be about $ 22
30,000 Won equates to 23 USD, approx. NOT 5 USD¡¡¡
5 USD are roughly 6,600 Won.
Exchange rate: 1USD = 1,300 Won
Get your 💩 together …
There is not enough diversity in this video!
Imagine having all these plastic single use containers dumped for one week. Has a sort of bad after-taste doesn't it?
White people getting amazed by the amount of ingredients is so funny🤭
SEE WHAT THEY EAT IN USA SCHOOLS? LOL, MORE SUITABLE FOR GOATS
That's a lot of plastic.
Wow! It all looks delicious. Only $5 dollars, is amazing. Wish I could buy that here in Canada.
I am so very impressed with their operation, they deserve all the success in the World.
30,000 won is NOT $5… 30,000 won is around $22 USD as of today. there could be a mistake in the script
YET 92 PERCENT OF THIS PEOPLE ON THE POST WILL SPEND $5.00 ON FAST FOOD LIKE MCDONALDS WENDYS POPEYES BURGER KING HARDEES WHITE CASTLE BOJANGLES KFC PIZZA HUT DOMINOES LITTLE CESARS TACO BELL ETC
Since robots and automats could do the same – even simulate human imperfection – this is clearly just an anti-unemployment action.
sweat n tears add to flavor
Kukumber. The food looks tasty
These meals have to be the most nutritious and delicious things ever.
