We filmed a video back in 2021 and ended up never publishing it. Then we forgot about it until the other day. We set out one day to do the shopping and had the most unusual adventure, ended up in a rather particular house. Here, we remember that day and show you the video that we made. Our chickens now live in Praiano in our friends coop (we go away too often) and our white cat Lily is no longer. Our avocado trees are growing well now and are almost thigh high.

Thanks for watching the video The Lost Episode: Is this the scariest house on the coast?

  1. love your videos, and thank you for taking me to beautiful Italy. I have a weird question though. I never see you drinking wine. I thought Italians loved their wine(maybe its a stereotype?) is there a reason for this? 🙃Just curious.

  2. ❤❤❤I am amazed. Pepe has created a beautiful life. The truest form of living a life of passion and oneness with nature. I absolutely loved the episode. Thank you, Nikki and Carlo ❤

  3. Oh Nicki and Carlo, Pepe was not a hoarder at all. You want to see hoarders please come to USA. I enjoyed the episode and life of Pepe at 74!

  4. Pepe’s home probably would not make HGTV; but, what a beautiful garden. Glad you dusted off this old video- it’s quite a treasure. I thought Pepe was an interesting man; living his best life. Perhaps, sometime in the future, a Pepe update.

  5. What language was Pepe speaking with Carlo? Can you make another video of Pepe, maybe he has light on his house now and we can see better all of his collection. 😊😊 Nice video, a lot of memories, especially Lilly the cat.

  6. It was so nice and sad to see Lily again. It would be interesting to look up Pepe again and see how he is doing.

  7. Very intriguing video, especially Pepe's gardens and collections!! Thank you for sharing!! The house did not spook me. I believe it was the absence of light which threw a pall over everything and I can understand why you were uncomfortable, Nicki. In fact, Pepe seemed quite proud of his display!! He reminded me of the older Italian men in my family who passed on decades ago. As Southern Italians, they spoke as he did, in "dialetto." Carlo, parli molto bene il dialetto. This video dredged up some words from my childhood and I actually remembered what they meant!! However, it was not enough to properly follow the conversation. It sounded very much like what I heard growing up. However, my parents never taught me much. When they did not want me to understand what they were saying, they spoke in Italian ("dialetto"). Not a good way to "learn" a language!!

  8. Lovely video—I’m so glad that you dug this out and shared the lost footage with us. Pepe had such zest for life! It was very interesting to see how he spends his days down there by himself.
While watching the clips of you in the supermarket, I was waiting for Carlo to reach for the Grisbis. Those little cookies are delicious by the way! I just bought some in a little Italian marketplace here in the states called Eataly. I remembered Carlo enjoying them on one of your road trips in an earlier video. 😂❤

  9. You know, he may be a hoarder but not in the bad connotation. All his stuff yes but it was all in nice, neat rows and he loved it so much. He was so proud. If only all us hoarders were so neat & tidy!

  10. Woah. Glad you made it out safely and I hope your walk this time was quiet and safe.

I am going to be in Positano from the 4-9 of May this week and if you are in town, I would love to meet you both in person to give you a small gift I brought from home.

  11. I couldn’t see all that you added to the pasta. I saw zucchini, onion, lemon and maybe tuna. I don’t know what that blackish thing was. Can you help please?

  12. That man will live forever because he is so passionate about his hobbies- collecting and organizing oddities from his travels, growing beautiful plants and flowers, and building a stone path to more of his hidden treasures. What a wonderfully interesting and happy man.

  13. Thank you nicki. You have brought me and my mum together and we have now watched you for years. Hopefully planning a trip together to Positano next year. She’s also English and we live in Australia and it will be her first trip overseas in 10 years!

  14. Wow what an unusual house, I wouldn't want to live there though! I'd say Pepe has some interesting stories from all his travels. I'm just back from Positano last night. We stayed up in Montepertuso in Genny and Emily's air bnb (my sons booked it as a surprise 60th birthday present for me) such a lovely peaceful location.
We decided on the first evening to walk down to Positano as we had a sundowner boat trip booked. Genny pointed the way to the path from their place (down's easy right?…eh, not so much!) we actually met Carlo, but besides the fact that it was spitting rain, I was also aware that you guys probably get fed up being stopped (the girls did love on the dogs for a minute) and so we carried on down. Our legs were like jelly by the time we arrived down at the street! Eejits!
We laughed at our naivety, the next day, when our calves were aching! But we were so glad we did it rather than take the easy way and hop on a bus or taxi, and a great memory was made, the views, wow. I have a new admiration for you both having to climb up/down steps to get about. But what a stunning part of the world you all live in…just magical. It's thanks to you both (and my two sons!) that I got to visit your lovely little slice of heaven. 🙂x

  15. Brilliant episode. You two are full of stamina, not only have you to walk up and down those steps of yours you decide to go on a walk that goes down forever. I thought Pepe was amazing how much energy does he have. Thank you for sharing ❤x

  16. I was in Positano on holiday (stayed sorrento) last Thursday and saw Carlos down at the blue star boat hire place. I recognised the two dogs first😂 Beautiful place!

  17. Thought subscribers of this channel would like a novel I have just read. Finding Love in Positano by lucy coleman. Lovely read.

  18. He doesn't seem to be a hoarder at all, but more of a collector. I particularly like his miniatures.

  19. Is Peppe still alive? You most go again and visit him, will be nice to see him again
I enjoy the video, and those orchids beautiful.

  20. I personally would love to hear more about Pepe's life and how he has come to live like this or his story if he cared to share what he feels comfortable with.He has an obvious knowledge of plants and loves flowers and nature and I would love to hear more and also about his travels in Thailand.
He obviously has a story and I would love to know more and not just feel like we have looked at and judged a man who lives an eccentric lifestyle and who is "creepy"…seems abit unfair on Pepe.
I'd like to know how he waters all those plants for one as I struggle to keep all my plants in pots alive especially during hot months and he is fitter than both of you too it seems 🙂 !!!! If only I could be as active and fit and interested in life at that age !!

  21. Disappointed! I expected more compassion and grace from Nicki! Pepe was very very very kind and welcoming…and perhaps lonely! Also, he is a collector!!! I believe hoarding is considered a mental disorder so nothing to ridicule…nothing “scary”.

  22. Thumb up. Funny, little? I would call him genuine and socially friendly/trusting to accept two strangers into his home.

  23. He is a great character and besides the hoarding he is an inspirational person. God bless him. Hope he out lives his mum.

  24. Love this. Would genuinely love some spirit vlogs re places either in Positano or UK. Love real life stories. Even if it's just a feeling of something different about a place. (Unsure if Carlo could share his previous workplace experiences.)

  25. Pepe lives his life to the full and is so full of energy and those orchards are amazing. I do not know what I do when ever I buy an orchard it dies. Glad you found this video and shared it with us. Thank you. Have you ever gone back to see if he is still around, amazing that his mother lived till she was 102 years old.

  26. Question when I saw Carlo watering I wondered where your water comes from a well? Or stored rain water?

  27. I just loved seeing Lily again and the chickens, also. Such fun adventures you two take us on. Thank you for sharing your part of the world with us.

  28. I discovered your channel 3 weeks ago as I was looking for a traditional Positano/Amalfi Coast birthday party theme. I am absolutely in LOVE with this channel and addicted to the videos and your lifestyle. Im telling all my friends about it and watch the videos every night when I go to bed. I cannot wait to visit Positano one day, I feel I would know exactly where to go, what to do and what to expect. Thank you for all the information, the videos are a feast for your eyes. Love from Cape Town, South Africa. ❤

  29. In Amalfi right now…going to Positano tomorrow…hope to run into your both…think you for always sharing the beauty of your home. It is such a special place and so very busy thisa time of year!

  30. Thursday 11 May 2023 Positano will be the half way point of the 2023 Giro D' Italia.
