We had a fun day in Volterra which is another historic hillside town we visited. We ate take-away pizza as a snack and also had pizza and calzone at a restaurant. There’s a good selection of shops and restaurants in Volterra and many of them have a lovely Tuscan ambience. The alabaster shops are unique to the area where the alabaster is mined; they then create beautiful items out of it and then sell their products in the shops there.
