One of the most common questions my YouTube subscribers, my friends, coworkers, and family members ask me is how I can eat a healthy, sustainable diet for $100 a month.
Is it even possible? You mentioned healthy and sustainable, is that even realistic?
In the next 500 words, I hope to convey to you exactly how it’s done..
Costco
Having a Costco membership isn’t necessary, but it certainly helps. Without the discounts, I would estimate an additional $20 increase per month.
On gas and cash back rewards alone, I make back my $120 membership fee. I do not include the $10 a month expense in my numbers because of this.
Meal 1 & 2
Rice and Black Beans. I add some spices and Frank’s Hot Sauce to enhance the taste. To some this meal may get old, but I think it’s one of the most amazing meals we can experience.
The most cost efficient meal should be a staple in the everyday American’s diet. Unfortunately it is not, and many people are missing out on the drastic positive economic effect of having $0.07 meals.
Eating 1.5 cups of black beans and rice in each meal equals $0.21 total, a price I’m willing to pay for such luxurious dining.
Meal 3
Chicken, pepperonis, and olive oil on the skillet. About a year ago, I watched Chef on Netflix and attempted to recreate his magic on the grill. Multiple Italian meats, mustard, and delicious whole grain bread led me down a path to thinking I could cook up the next great food truck.
After making roughly 50 Cuban sandwiches, I was out of all ingredients except for pepperoni. I decided to throw it in with the chicken and olive oil and voila I made magic.
Seriously, it’s an underrated meal. Even more underrated is the $1.53 price tag for 50 grams of protein.
Meal 4
The magical protein shake. Ingredients in the video.
Total Cost of Protein Shake: $1.96
Total Monthly Cost: ~$110
