Another great video Elyssa, for us when we visit Rome we eat at a good local restaurant we have used for the past 3 years next door to our hotel near Santa Maria Maggiore and they help with my Italian language, Grazie per altri buoni consigli.

Last year, we booked 3 but took a chance on the other 4 nights. We were never disappointed in any we ended up in. Some surprised us by being even better than they looked.
I would definitely recommend the tasting night at Roscioli. It was superb.
Not booking it this year as my friend can't drink red wine.
My rough rule is to look at the restaurant, the menu, dinners and staff. Is it clean and pleasant. Are the staff attentive. Do the dinners seem happy? Is there enough choice on the menu for everyone?
I've come to believe it's illegal to serve bad pizza in Italy. 😊

I have to concur with your advice on making restaurant reservations. Visited the city this past March and wrongly assumed that since it wasn't the high season yet, I didn't make the reservation to this Michelin rated restaurant specializing in Emilia Romagna dishes. Turns out all of their lunch and dinner seats were fully booked in advance!
I can't wait for Rome, our first time to Europe. My wife and I leave Phoenix on April 25th for NYC and then taking a repositioning cruise to Civitaveccia. We will be in Rome May 24th to June 2nd. We are staying in an ABNB between Piazza Navona and Ponte VittorioEmanuele II. I have been planning and watching Youtube videos for months planning. Thank you for all your helpful instruction.
