  1. Yes they do. We were in Rome a few months ago and the steaks and burgers were had better flavor than we get here at home.

  2. My step father has just been diagnosed with sludge on his gallbladder. Likely caused by being a life long alcoholic and eating everything we regulars around here know is bad for us like deep fried foods, fried in seed oils. Sugar galore, double double coffees, ten plus beers a day, smoking cigarettes. Needless to say buddy is sick and going to get worse. The new diet they put him on is high carb, NO fat ''so skim milk'' and no fatty meats!

The medical system is going to kill him faster than he would have himself sadly.

Please people dont be afraid to tell people that their diets are bullshit and they are killing themselves. One conversation thats sort of rough and awkward could save a persons life. I tried with my step father but ''what do i know right'' lol he wouldn't listen.

  3. Hiked up Mount Amiata in Tuscany a bunch of years ago. It was spring and the snow had melted and the lifts were closed.
At the top was a man cooking wild boar sausage on a grill. It was incredible, real and fresh meat. I enjoyed wild boar several times during that trip to Tuscany.

  4. I look forward, now, to one day go to Italy.
Surprisingly, the best beef I ever had was in South Africa. The standard herd tastes better than premium US beef.

  5. Nice summary.
Don't forget though all our stews, our lamb roast and our horse and donkey meat and steaks !! … Maybe for a second video on italian meat 👍
    Greetings from Sardinia !

  6. I Googled Dr. Shawn Baker and found that he has been the target of ferocious online hatred, but I have always found his videos very informative and interesting. They must be more important than I realized!

  7. I agree and live in Northern Italy.Thank God our Head of State Giogia Meloni and our Agriculture Minster had the courage to stand up to the Woke dudes who want us to eat ther crap 🎉❤

  8. The present italian government isn't particulary sharp (never seen one unfortunately), but even a broken clock is right twice a day, at least in a carnivore perspective. But I think those will be decisions that we will regret in the future economically speaking, like saying no to nuclear power. Educate people and let them decide if to buy or not. Porchetta is pronounced "porketta", like kettle 😉

  9. Yay Italy! Setting some standards! Much more of the world needs to do the same including the United States. Problem is the US doesn't feel that we have a cultural food heritage beyond hot dogs and hamburgers. We do! Barbecue is very American. People just have to figure out how to do it without adding sugar or too many plant-based additives and adulterants!!!

My son and I have dear friends who live in Italy. My son's best friend who's half-italian is very discerning about Italian cuisine. Which is very Italian of him. His Italian mother who's my friend is mostly vegetarian. She's very thin and she does eat some chicken and fish and cheese and milk so she's not really a vegetarian but she definitely doesn't touch pork or beef. And she orders the vegetarian burrito when she's in town and we go out to our favorite Mexican place which I'll have to figure out what I can order from now. Hopefully their carne asada is good and cooked with no seed oils. Haven't been eating out since I've been carnivore for the most part.

Have to say that I got some prosciutto that I was hoping would be lovely and it was very bland and ended up only using about a quarter of what I had gotten and throwing the rest away. But I would love to try some of those different Italian meat specialties especially that 3 inch steak! 🥩

  10. fantastic news on Italy's news… I'll be eating a thousand spieducci a.k.a. arrosticini this summer in Abruzzo!

btw: it's pronounced "Prork – etta" … I avoid pork here at home but in central Italy, it's to die for!

  11. Italians love open barbecue in an outdoor setting.

I was born in Italy and watched my aunties and parents cook. Open fire cooking is the yummiest 😊

Dr Baker I am proud of Italy too. I’m wondering if I should go back to my country of origin?

    Another Italian meat dish is

    Veal Spezzatino!

    First cook oil and garlic
Add Veal with bone and brown a little then add tomato 🍅 less is better. Add oregano and basil

when the meat is almost cooked add raw mushrooms 🍄

Cooking is on low heat – gas cooker is best. Leave lid on top you want the meat to be moist when it is served.

For those that are not restricting carbs add a bit of potato and carrots. 🧐🥰

  12. I'm not heavily invested in my take here on this particular subject matter — I'm not going to object to lab cultured meat being banned — but I believe banning anything is a sign of weakness. Let them make lab cultured protein simulations of meat. Go right on ahead. I can't imagine folks wanting it unless they make it much cheaper than real meat.

Fake meat made from plants is still significantly more expensive than comparable real meat like ground beef. It was supposed to supplant meat in short order. Lol! I say bring it. Meat is not something that can be replicated, and humans want meat because our genus evolved eating meat..

  13. I’m Italian from Sicily and there is more of delicious meat that you carnivore can discover ones you are over here. Don’t forget stigghiola !!! A delicious street food , basically are the intestines of a lamb . People in the street they barbecue intestines and is the dish of the capital of sicily. Any way of ever came over let us know

  14. unfortunately the eu "commission" can "intervene" on any subject eliminating a country's democratic sovereignty,
also on these basic issues. If they want to see a revolution, touch their food. Basically the only issue that elicits enough passion.

  15. Is Italy seems like a nice place to retire they have a wonderful Healthcare 2 that's why most come trees do this when they pay for their Healthcare they want their people to be healthy total opposite here in America they want you to stay sick

  16. I'm in Italy on holiday at the moment and looking forward visiting local butcher. We're renting a flat so will be able to cook some meat. Italians already have many good non-meat dishes so don't need beyond burger

  17. Italy, thank you for taking the lead on food sovereignty. Hope the world follows this lead.

  18. Would love to see more videos like this, they can be very useful for people who travel.

Regarding the ban, I think people should be allowed to destroy their health if they want to. It's just a terrible patch on a government screw up. It'd be better if they fixed the root problem instead: education about health.

  19. Dr. Shawn………….its pronounced "pork-etta" not "porschetta". The only plant based food I eat is pasta and tomatoes lol. Oh and pizza dough. Italian food is life for me!
