I love watching your videos on IG, many useful info, tips and clues about wines I should looking for. Many thanks 👏👏👏👏, now I'm starting watch you on YT👍 best regards
i miss some spanish Rioja 😉 ! what about Lopez de Heredia Viña Gravonia Blanco or even Viña Ardanza Reserva 2016
Very useful video, and one of my favorite price points to encourage new or somewhat interested, but not enthusiast-type wine drinkers. So often $30 or so is where “sense of place” starts to emerge.
Thanks, John. Thalabert has been a go-to of mine for many years. I drank my last bottle of '12 recently and it hadn't faded in the slightest. Soave is not my favourite: too much of it (even Classico) is just bland. The best I have drunk was with lunch in the lovely town of Soave itself. Mature Cru Beaujolais from good years is still excellent value: I have one bottle left of Moulin-À-Vent '15: looking forward to opening that sometime soon. Jansz featured in my wine evening in February, tasted blind alongside a SA fizz – the Jansz was preferred by all: excellent value at £17 from our local supermarket. I also love Sauternes and, like you, I enjoy it with cheese, especially Stilton. The Ribera del Duero I haven't tried; I have half a dozen Bohorquez '10 in the cellar. I opened one at the wine evening and got a strong whiff of TCA, which nobody else could detect – strange. Must try another bottle soon. Btw, isn't it the Greek letter, Psi, rather than P.S.I.?
Sorry for the waffle but you picked a few of my favourites here. One thing I must get more into is right bank claret – I tend to buy mainly left bank but I notice that you often recommend wines from St Emilion, which I know less about.
How strange that the lunlunta can be found well under € 10 in Europe.
Enjoying this video at 3:15 in the morning! I agree with you re. Soave wine. I had one recently and it was excellent with seafood. Great QPR, too! I’ll try to find this specific wine that you are recommending. Will continue commenting tomorrow.😁 Santé, John!
Great video, great picks…
very interested in how a wine would taste without sulfites… thanks for bringing this wine to my attention
Added Diatom, Rieussec, and Inam to the list! Just saw your location is in Dallas, I'm from here and just moved back last month. Would love to share a few bottles sometime!
Great video John as usual. How about a video on NZ and Tasmanian Pinot?
Amazing content so glad I found you. Keep on going👍🏼
Thanks for providing a video focusing on wines in this price range. I will look into these recommendations.

Rieussec is not bad, but if I can, I'd go for pe-2013 Chateau deFargues. The reason is that vintages after 2012( which they didn't make any), prices almost doubled. However, vintages before 2013 are still found at a reasonable price. Back in 2014, I loaded up 9 half-bottles of the 2007 vintage, and sadly, I'm now down to 1😢.
Big fan of the Diatom! Nice list
Great content as usual. So helpful for me in my wine sales job at a huge store.👏🍷
Great content as always ! Cheers !
Interesting picks in this video John, once again!
In my experience, PSI benefits from a few years of bottle aging. Tasted the 2018 last year, and found it quite restrained even after a decant. So decided to leave my other bottles in the cellar for a bit longer. Could be the vintage, but curious about your experience here. Salud!
What are your suggestions for Cabernet sauvignons around $50?
