  1. My favorite at Hollywood Studios, every time I’ve been it’s been all around great! Service, food and atmosphere have always been exceptional.

  2. I think you can get better Italian for sure in Italy pavilion and in the Swan and dolphin . N John is right it should be thin.

  3. I went to Mama’s in January as part of my Fantasmic package. We loved it!!! We will be back in September!!

  4. Glad to see you guys finally went to Mama Melrose. Now you can actually do a food review lol

  5. Calamari – chewy or no? That is usually the sign of not fresh or fresh calamari and to me is the marker of good calamari!

  6. I clicked on this video so fast. My first and last time at Mama Melrose was around 17 years ago. It was our first trip to Disney World with kids. It is safe to say, that it was not a good dining experience. The food was extremely disappointing and the atmosphere left something to be desired. I vividly remember cheese hanging from the ceiling. We vowed never to return. It does make me happy to see that things have drastically improved, both with the food and atmosphere. I’m glad that you all enjoyed your meal. Panda, as soon as I saw your thick cutlet, I knew it would be an issue. I like my chicken cutlets thin. Great review from a great trio!

  7. This place is one of the worst full service restaurants in Disney. The pasta is cheap and overcooked. Just not a great option.

  8. I didn't know Erica was a swiftie. I love her shirt! The food looks pretty good for cheese lovers

  9. Great review! Erica is really coming into her own and it is wonderful to see her growth as a team member!

  10. I had a great meal there last week. Fantasmic dining package. We had the NY Strip and fried mozzarella appetizers. My brother said the 4 cheese Mac was the best he ate and he ate Mac and cheese everyday. I loved the glaze on steak! I subbed regular pasta marinara as I don’t eat cheese. The bread is boring but it’s not bad!

  11. We stopped by here for the first time on our most recent trip and we were very pleasantly surprised. I went in thinking it would be a glorified Olive Garden, but our experience was much better than that. I also appreciate that it is a bit out of the way. It’s a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the parks. Agree with Craig, I went in not expecting to eat everything yet that’s exactly what we did! 😂

  12. Thanks guys on a good review especially Erica’s on the plant based options. We have always found the restaurants at Hollywood Studios our least favourite out of all the parks. So last time we were there we made a reservation at Mama Melrose as it’s one we have never tried and was pleasantly surprised. Food was very good and it has a lovely ambiance Will definitely return here on our next visit.

  13. As a plantbased eater, I always go to Mama's Melrose when visiting Disney World. My husband absolutely loves the Salmon, which is often the sustainable fish.

  14. I feel like it is a place that gets a bad rap. Mostly we go there to get the Fantasmic Package but that is mainly because we enjoy Sci Fi and then several of the quick service that fill our days there.

  15. I agree about the chicken parm, it’s way too thick, but I never knew about the lasagna, will have to try that. My daughter is a vegetarian so glad to hear about Ericas meal being good because she didn’t like the pasta dish she got, but she did like the tiramisu

  16. The reviews have been really good lately. Keep it up.

We enjoyed Mama Melrose but had issues post meal. The lasagna was really good and despite my first statement I'd probably get it again.

The decor of the restaurant really pushes the line of dated versus nostalgic. I have to go with the former because it looks like the same decor from MGM days. I'd love for them to keep the memorabilia but spruce the place up. Keep the theme but clean it up. Loved the permanent Christmas store that was near it.

  17. I am really enjoying this more playful goofy side of Craig lately! "Tell us we're wrong, I dare you." hahaha Great review by all. Thanks for doing the reviews as they are helpful in deciding where we should try. I've been hesitant to go to Mama Melrose's, but they seemed to enjoy it. Not sure I'd want such a heavy meal and then go on rides. Maybe at the end of the day before leaving though.

  18. Thanks Erica, Panda & Craig! I will look at their menu next time out there but I’m kind of like Ryno about Italian cuisine: homecooked is best (actually, I had the best in CA at a fancy restaurant with head chef from Italy). I am 1 of those who doesn’t like marinara on pasta, but love pomidoro sauce (yes, a bit of a sweet sauce).

  19. As much as I love the food reviews, I also love to hear the elaborate backstories that the imagineers have come up with for these places

  20. I have had early dinner 2 times as part of the Fantasmic dinner package. We totally enjoyed the meals, atmosphere and staff both times and would be back again in a minute.

  21. I love this crew and their reviews! I am from NY and don’t know that I would go to MaMa’s given the wonderful Italian meals to be had in NYC and other cities and towns up and down the Hudson. I would like to see a Disney pizza showdown because I always crave a pizza day after all the other unique cuisines. Keep up the great reviews!

  22. Love this place! If you go for supper, ask for Joanne for your server. She is a hoot! I went with my cousin and her husband and she was hilarious with my cousin's husband. My daughter and I went a year later and she was a good sport and we called him and she gave him a "hard time" about not coming to see her and said something like "I'm looking good you missed out!" Also their flatbreads, OMG so good!

  23. The sun could not make up it’s mind with Craig’s shot. I like the atmosphere there, though!

  24. It’s not that intricate, but helpful knowledge of the restaurant..We love it, keep it short and sweet and you’ve got a winner…The meatball (that Panda got)not only looked good but good enough for a meal in itself..Erica’s look on food,is so helpful (plant based and allergies being so important),thanks, for being humorous, knowledgeable and informative, great job.

  25. Great review!! This was a must do for my family! Love that it gives off the old Hollywood (MGM) Studios vibes

  26. Great review. I always thought that this was one of the better "One Credit" TS Restaurants back in the day. One note: If Erica was reading from a notation on the menu that said that the Spaghetti Bolognese was dairy-free, then I will absolutely take her word for it. But traditionally, a true Bolognese sauce is made with some milk added to it so it may be worth double checking if one has a severe allergy. Before posting this I checked some recipes that I have on hand and re-confirmed this. And once I got to Marcella Hazan's recipe that showed the inclusion of milk, I stopped, because she is always the last word when it comes to Italian cuisine. It is entirely possible that at WDW they omit the milk. But that would make it "Meat Sauce" instead of a true Bolognese.

  27. The first time we went was 20 years ago back in the good ole days of the dining plan. Loved it but it was a 90 degree day so I was a slug around the park that day after eating so much Italian.
