Dont’s:
1. Cheese on fish dishes: A respectful good rule of thumb for ALL meals; don’t ask for grated cheese if it’s not served with the dish. Especially not fish!

2. Cappuccino after 11am: Italians only drink them in them in the morning. It’s not a law, but many consider it to be๐Ÿ˜†

3. Asking for Tap water: Public fountains of free fresh spring water are found everywhere in cities like Rome, but ordering tap water at an establishment is not customary. Opt for a bottle of frizzante (sparkling) or naturale (plain) water instead.

Do:

Before venturing to a new Italian city, find out what food and wine that area is known for! You have an amazing opportunity to try food that is more than likely locally grown and sourced, filled with thousands of years of history and tradition. How incredible is that to think… your pasta dish originated in that very area a thousand years ago?! Mind blowing! ๐Ÿคฏ
