The story of this highly eccentric and carnivalesque film centres on a luxurious home for the elderly, a castle on an estate. The director and his staff will do anything to fulfill the fantasies of the residents (like an elephant hunt or a nuclear war). Director Jean-Pierre De Decker has a merciless view of the elderly who abandon their dignity in frenetic and embarrassing attempts to deny the advancement of decay. But the “organizers of happiness” are also plagued by frustration: the respected director cheats for example on his wife Bellina.
