André Aciman (author of Call Me By Your Name) discusses the infamous peach scene.
The latest from director Luca Guadagnino (I Am Love, A Bigger Splash) explores the tentative relationship that blooms between Elio (Timothée Chalamet), a 17-year-old boy on the cusp of adulthood, and his professor father’s older research assistant Oliver (Armie Hammer), who joins the family at their vacation villa over the course of an Italian summer. With a script by James Ivory, Guadagnino has fashioned André Aciman’s 2007 novel of sexual awakening into a note-perfect tale of forbidden love.

so people think an adult grooming a minor is love and cute? okay. if this was a hetero relationship you would all call it out for what it is but since they are gay men lets hype it right…
the first time i watched this scene, it felt funny and awkward to me. i haven't read the book and watched the movie first so idk what was going on in Elio's head. i laughed and got secondhand embarrassment when Oliver stepped in and realized what he'd done and confirmed to myself they're both absolutely crazy but when Elio broke down, it hit me. the way the mood changes from embarrassment and funny to heartbreaking got me speechless, given that it wasn't even two mins long, it was full of emotions and i can't compare it to anything i ever seen before. it was so good. reading the book made me understand him more and now it hurts even more.
Well, the Bichen Scene in Mo Dao Zu Shi is cringier
I know the sequel will never gonna happen but still I'm praying everyday to make it happen 🥺🥺
Still hate this movie, much better gay cinema out there
Even if it weren't for *rmie H*mmer, this scene would absolutely kill my interest in this movie. 🤢🍑
Please don't recommend this stupid shit to me again.
I wish they could remake this movie without Archie Hammer.
this is some shitty cringe acting
how have i never seen this movie?? i got CHILLS when Chalamet delivered the “i don’t want you to go” line
“As the two men, boys…”?!
There’s a minor and a grown man.
Period.
people who says this scene is weird should watch pier paolo pasolini' Salò lol
Peach scene was my favorite because when Elio breaks down and says I don't want you to go I feel that deep in my soul. Having lost someone I loved to suicide I know what it's like to break and wish I could have said I don't want you to go.

It's not a peach, it's an apricot.
I haven't eaten a peach 🍑 since seeing this film in 2019😅
Don't get me wrong but when Oliver tried to suck on that fruit knowing it's been juiced on is straight up seductive❤…
yeah we love older guys preying on underage men, love the message
