It is day 145 since I asked you to do the challenge with Croatia in VIC 3 but in one of the videos, a good person named Andraip (Thanks for all the help) said it has a few flaws so it's time to correct them. So when you start playing as Croatia you have 15 years to get your independence, after that you cannot ally, get in a defensive pact, and you cannot be under any kind of protection and you must rival these powers as soon as possible: Austria, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Ottomans, and all nations from the Italian boot. You also must embargo all those nations and cannot enter their custom union nor can they enter yours. You cannot be in an alliance with any of the top 10 nations, including a defensive pact custom union, or protectorate, but you can trade with them. AI must be put on the default settings in case it isn't. If you ally let's say Portugal, and later on they get into the top 10, you must break the alliance. You also must stay monarchy all the time. Form the Danubian state with Croatia following these rules. (FYI incase I didn't make it more specific, you cannot join anybody's custom union you must always at all times have your own market)

Also historically after the independance there were 3 parties that formed. The Russian, the French and the English friendly party. All three of the great powers wanted to influence the nation so… they did 😋
if you play as sikh and go to war with east india company and britain doesnt join them (maybe in another war + good relations or they are fighting a vassal of east india company to ban slavery or something) as soon as you finish that war the east india company will explode in many different states which makes for a fun playthrough. Managed to do it by 1848 but in order to have a more fun gameplay i would suggest you restart until east india company joins the war you declare on day 1 on Sinhd, sometimes they dont join restart until they do and take war reps, the rest of punjab and dehli. Try to ally France.

As to the history point there it’s very important to judge people by the morals of their time period, a great historical example of this is Henry Ford, who was extremely anti-semetic for the time he was alive repeatedly getting several complaints written to his newspaper and receiving a medal from the Nazi party. Henry Ford for example was an extremist while the organizer of St.Lewis worlds fair and 1904 Olympics which included an anthropology days which sought to scientifically prove which races athletically suited to which sports(shocker the Europeans and Americans won). This “scientific study” wasn’t an abnormality or extremist view just reinforcing already dominant narratives of scientific racism and imperial superiority. Both shows bigotry(and are unacceptable by modern standards) but without the context of their time it’s impossible to see what was a exceptional act of bigotry. This tends to work in the inverse as well, if we ascribe modern values to premodern times we can also overlook extreme acts of heroism that seem simple today(this tends to happen a lot less).

One thing I really miss is some form of break up mechanic for multienthnic empires like Austria, Ottomans and Britain, where they disintregrate. I hate taking Austria proper and them just living happily ever after even tho the core land of the empire is gone.

You should watch a video about the crimes of Christopher Columbus and why they aren't his crimes. Most of the hate he gets is ether by people who belive he exterminated the native population with european disease or what his political rival and the governor who succeeded after Columbus. The rival smeared his name in which he could take over or force Columbuses out of power. The other thing is the governor who exploited the natives, but since he isn't well known most of his crimes is put in Columbuses name. The last thing is the misstranslation of the diary of Columbus.
