Buckle up, readers, because I’m about to take you on a wild ride through Italy’s Piemonte region!
We hit the road early and headed towards Genoa, taking the breathtaking coastal route. The scenery was so stunning that we had to pinch ourselves to make sure we weren’t dreaming! After just 1 ยฝ hours on the road, we arrived at the port of Genoa and were blown away by the sheer size and number of cruise ships and container vessels. It was like nothing we’d ever seen before!
Although we didn’t have much time in Genoa, we got a taste of the city’s massive historic buildings, beautiful plazas, and towering churches. We’re already planning our next visit so we can explore more of this incredible town.
Next stop: Asti, one of Italy’s most famous wine regions! We made a quick pit stop in Asti to grab a bite to eat and pick up some flowers for our friend in Cascina Castagna. Her house is perched on a hill with jaw-dropping views of the entire wine region, with the alps serving as a majestic backdrop.
We toured some lovely small towns like Castagnole Delle Lanze and drove through the Calosso wine region. But the highlight of our trip was an unforgettable Italian dinner in the beautiful town of Alba. We savored every bite of our meal, knowing that we were in one of the best places in Italy for food and wine.
And speaking of wine, there’s one place you absolutely can’t miss: Barbaresco. The wine fields go on for miles and miles, and the landscape is absolutely breathtaking. We drove for hours, taking in the beauty of this incredible region. It’s no wonder that Piemonte is one of Italy’s most popular destinations โ it’s a feast for the senses!
