Virna Lisi was a stunning, knockout actress from the seaport city of Ancona, Italy. She became popular in America in film during the 60s. Some of her best known films include “Not with My Wife, You Don’t!” (1966), “Beyond Good and Evil” (1977), “Follow Your Heart” (1996) and “La Reine Margot” (1994). In 1965, she starred opposite Jack Lemmon in the film “How To Murder Your Wife”.
“Volare” (“Nel blu, dipinto di blu”) The title translates to “In the blue-painted blue sky”. It was originally recorded by Domenico Modugno for the 1958 Eurovision song contest. It won the Grammy for Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 1st Annual Grammy Awards in 1959.
“Piove (Ciao, ciao bambina)” (“It’s raining [Bye, bye baby]”) is an Italian song written by Domenico Modugno and Eduardo Verde.[1] It won first prize at the 1959 Sanremo Music Festival. It was featured on the 1959 studio album “Connie Francis Sings Italian Favorites”. It became one of her best selling and popular albums.
“Mambo Italiano” is a popular song written by Bob Merrill in 1954 for the American singer Rosemary Clooney. It was covered in 1955 by the popular Italian-American star Dean Martin. He recorded it for his studio “ Hey, Brother, Pour the Wine” and became a huge hit for him
