Welcome to “Tales from Tuscany”!
We are Marisa and David, Australian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area.
This is our journey and we are taking you along with us!
TODAY’S VLOG…
Today’s vlog made me cry! Just making it and looking back at the sad day I had to lock up Vivasogni until my next visit, made me well up!
It’s only temporary, I know, but I’ve grown so accustomed to my new life here and the wonderful peace and tranquility that surrounds me.
I also adore the sense of community and traditions, such as the Chestnut Festival in neighbouring Rivalto, which you’ll see in this video.
City life now freaks me out a little and I prefer the slower pace in Chianni, which seems to soothe your soul.
In future episodes, you’ll see my journey through Umbria until the day I left for Australia.
Oddly enough, it’s almost time now for me to move back to Chianni for another much longer stay this time…I’m so excited!
So we hope you sit back, relax and enjoy my final days in Chianni last year.
As always, we hope you enjoy the time you spend with us, as much as we love having you along with us for the journey!

This one is short and bitter-sweet my friends…a warning but a few tears will be shed but as always…I bounce back and am already gearing up for my return next month! so sad saying goodbye to your little home and town that have welcomed you with open arms. As you were filming yourself closing up the windows and house, I thought "look how far you're lovely home has come from it's humble beginnings when you and David first saw it in person. You can be very proud of what you and David have accomplished in making this house a "home". The time will fly by so quickly before you return. I have loved watching your journey so far and can't wait for any more that you might want to share😘🥰🤗
Ohh Marisa, this video brought me to tears, the left behind is always emotional and sad 😔 and I found myself so much in you when you said goodbye to plants and all the things in the house. That's what I do too, I talk to things, plants, animals and tell them to wait for me and I'll be back. A little bit silly, I know but for me every thing has a purpose in my life and I treat them with gratitude and love. Anyway the months of winter passed in Europe and you will be back soon in the sunny Tuscany. Much love 💕

A lovely video. When you are so sad to leave Chianni, it is the sign you have found the right place to stay in Italy! It looks so nice there, with the castagna festival, nice people, good food and vines. So nice to see you have already got so many friends and acquaintances. Your apartment has become so beautiful and cosy, with all the furniture, details and colours you have acquired. Big hugs to you both! I look forward to the next video. ♥
