So, it's Parmesan cheese. It's not counterfeit if it doesn't use the trademarked name. That's like Evian accusing other water manufacturers of making fake water.

Wow they got cheese being copied in the black market.
Everyone is assuming the black market parmesan cheese is the same thing as the authentic thing; No, it's not. The forgeries often contain additives like cellulose (Sourced from wood pulp mainly), potassium sorbate and/or other cheese cultures which aren't parmigiano reggiano. That's why it's called a forgery.
What about the grated parmesan cheese I so liberally shake on my spaghettis? Is that fake?
