Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland, Australia, about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online, so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

These grow wild on my property. We always have a feed straight from the plant when we come across them.
A little suprised you don't slightly dice up the tomatoes for the cheese toastie
Never heard of this kind of tomato, would like to have some seeds for it.

I love your videos. You are definitely a large influence on me being interested in being self sufficient.
Great for growing in pots
I grow sweet 100's every year. It's my favorite tomato. They're sweeter than my raspberries and blackberry.
Super Mark 😇😇😇
I, too, must have tomatoes that pass the cheese toast test. 💯❤
I was shopping and saw seeds for Everglades tomatoes. I need to go back to Walmart
How are the tomato skins? thin, tough?
They really do look pretty.
Cherry tomatoes?
bit of Dijon and a handful.
It's just a tomato
Harvesting these is a PITA.
THE CHEESE ❤ this is gonna be my new tomato test!!!
I'm such a fan! Love your kindness and encouraging attitude. Please at least also give us a lil video all about your cheese toastie test!!!
this is my favorite. i had it in my swfl garden last year and this year it volunteered in the chicken compost pile. it is growing wild and tastes so delicious!
I’m in Perth…how /where can I source these seeds?
Have 8 growing that i overwintered in garage, happy they are in the ground thriving
Amazing never heard of it but just ordered on Etsy 🙏🏻👍🏻
Wow im impressed, let me find some now. Thank you
Where to purchase seeds/plants in Australia???
Aren't those just cherry tomatoes?
Oxalates
Galapagos wild tomatoes are also fun.
Tomato is a fruit. These look like yummy tomatoey grapes.
💎💚
Thank you I hate tomatoes but my husband does so I now need to grow some of these for him.
Man you just gained a new fan.
I need to instigate the cheese tomato toastie test in my house 😊😊
Mm. Sprinkle some salt and basil… Nice summer snack!
I'm in Zone 9B in Florida, and discovered these a couple of years ago. They are one tomato that grows well here, and mine produce much of the year. I usually throw mine in salads, but will have to try tomato and cheese toasty!
Thanks for the tip. Just ordered some seeds
I had this tomato plant growing last year around Easter time. I think from all the kids picking and pulling at it killed it off literally the next morning. It was a hit with everyone though. They all said that it had more of a tomato taste then bigger tomatoes do.
Love this guy!
These used to grow like weeds in the back yard as a child. Just walking around the garden picking tomatoes to eat.
Now I have to start doing a tomato and cheese toasty test😊
Yeah.
Awesome thanks 😊
I underestimated this tomato once in the summer of 1996 and was punished severely for my failure
Me: stops midway through second viewing to look up where to buy Everglades tomato seeds.
