Love the menus but I miss the nights of the flaming Baked Alaska.
I'm a picky eater and losing the classic menu makes it very hard for me to eat. At least 3 or so nights there isn't stuff that I would want and I like having a shrimp cocktail every night, that's vacation to me. There are even more nights that I don't see a dessert I would eat at all and at least when they had the classic menu, I could have cheesecake. I can live without theming nights, it reminds me of Holland America in the 80's. I can totally see the lobster limitation and while I love lobster, I'm happy they still have it.
I like the theme menus. Something new and fresh. I'm allergic to shellfish, so I will give my tail to anyone interested… lol
I welcome the menu changes and felt they were long over due. I like the themes everything looks excellent. Not really upset by the lobster I never knew how they pulled that off to begin with. And the only reason I ordered more was cause they had small tails. The New England lobster will be bigger so its not needed anyways. I can't wait to try the menu out on Liberty of the Seas in September.
Will these be in play for February 2023 cruises anthem of the seas?
The new menus look great to me! There's been so many rumors flying. That the entrees are tiny, that you can only order one. 75 min is fine. I'm looking forward to Caribbean night , I hear the coconut shrimp is very good!
Are there any Vegetarian/Vegan menus as well?
Can't wait to eat on Wonder of the seas! I love new choices.
I rarely have time to go on a cruise that's more the 3-4 days….. so I always had to pay for lobster…. iss the days when we can have 1 complementary lobster on every cruise….. but that was late 90s early 2000's that they gave everyone that option….. but the lobster ain't cheap either….. usually it's $40 which I felt was overpriced for a sub par lobster….. and I ended up skipping it most the time…. but at the same token i can make it way better myself at home thankfully …. that too without the premium price… as far as the new menu goes …. I like the theme night…. it's a nice change actually….. last time I was on a royal carribean cruise was about 4 yrs ago…. normally I rotate cruise lines …. between carnival ncl and royal….. but I always enjoyed royal the most….. with their variety
I heard on 7 plus nights they have lobster on the Jammer too?
I decided not to get a dining package this cruise, because I am really only addicted to Hooked. I looked at the main dining room menu for our Navigator of the Seas cruise starting on January 30, ‘23 and the menu looks spectacular!
I expected a limitation on lobster, but I wish they’d just serve the whole damn lobster. The claw meat is superior to the tail meat, and there are two claws for every tail. Where did all of that extra lobster go? A limit of one seems reasonable, particularly under those circumstances.
I'm really disappointed that the classic menu is no longer available. I did notice that most of the nights have NY strip on the menu. This is the primary dish that I would miss from the classic menu. If NY strip or ribeye was offered nightly, it would be awesome!
These look great! But what about dietary restrictions? I am gluten and dairy free…is that something that can be requested?
They are making a huge mistake. I spy several nights without entrees that anyone in my family will eat, especially my child allergic to shellfish. Those classics that were always available were great when we didnt like the featured meals.
We don’t eat Lobster so personally that doesn’t phase me. I am a little concerned about the “classics” section being axed though, because my young adult daughter has a healthy but very plain diet so relied on the classics on certain nights. Is it also true that Royal won’t be honouring any requests at all? Even for – eg fresh fruit instead of a salad to start with?
Are the rumors true that the lobster is no longer Maine lobster?
I hope that they will continue to accommodate those of us with autoimmune disorders. I cannot eat carbs at all so some of these changes seems to limit my choices.
I was just on the Brilliance of the Seas. It was only a 4 day cruise so we didn't get to experience all of the theme nights. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have the normal staples at each meal. It was nice to have that option. Also, the food wasn't as good as a recent Carnival Cruise that I went on.
I agree with all the other comments losing the classics makes me sad 😢
The quality is poor. Cold food and strange opinions with theme nights. Desert selection is poor. We did b/b on Harmony and I ordered off the kid’s menu several times.
