about ability and confidence. It is better to have more ability than confidence, other way around hurts too much, says the guy who has been riding for, eek, 53 years…and still has lots to learn…
I don't think that is an abandoned village. I am willing to bet that is used by herders of some sort during different times of year… And that was a Catholic shrine. Looked active…just old.
1:16 – ancient fortress(very cool) with an ugly cell tower protruding?!
Stunning ride.
Excellent effort, Beanster.
Some pretty serious drop offs on the tet there. Well ridden.
Think Jonathan would enjoy also on his Tenere. Much easier than his heavy Triumph.
A fabulous part of the world.
Safe, happy travels 👍
wu tang 🙂
Best video yet. Thank you very well done. Snowy day here in upstate New York. Great day to watch your videos thanks again cheers to ya.
Bravo Kenneth !
Stunning, Kenneth🤩 Awsome roads and nature. Almost as Norway…. Just almost😂 You are so lucky.
Welcome to Italy!
The abandoned place you found on the mountain is probably some sort of high mountain stable for farmers used in the past.
Specially in high mountain farmers used to move up and down on the mountains with their cattle depending on the season, they stayed high in the mountain during spring and summer to make their cattle to eat all the fresh grass and avoid the hot temperature in the valley, and they came down in the valley during autumn and winter to avoid the really cold and snowy high mountain environment.
A lot of those high mountain places were also used by italian partisans during WW2 to escape from fascists and nazi troops after attacks or ambushes on the main roads moving through France and Italy; while allied forces where stuck in the central Italy those partisans were able to stop and get stuck there thousands of German soldiers that were relocated from France to Italy to stop the allied advance, that helped a lot the allied command.
You must also consider that those places for centuries were also a border between the French reign (which was for centuries one of the biggest and most powerful states in the world) and a lot of smaller reigns across all the north of Italy, that's why there are a lot of fortresses and castles.
Enjoy Turin! It's a fantastic city with a lot of beautiful spots and an athmosphere pretty unique, it's probably one of the most elegant and "vintage" (in a good way) cities in Italy, It was the capital of the former reign of Italy, and at the same time during the 18th and 19th century It was one of most industrialist and busy city, that's the place where the italian industrial revolution started.
Peace! 🙂

You need to repack your bike for 2 up? Check out 2up and overloaded youtubers, or is the T7 not big enough 2 up?
Wow, wow, wow…the scenery!
I've always loved exploring old "ruins" like that. Back home in the mountains of east Tennessee, I used to come across all kinds of abandoned farms, etc. That was before I started doing YT and thinking about taking a camera with me. Perhaps I get that explorer part of me from my Norwegian half? Hahahaha. Great place to ride, indeed.

👍👌✌😊
I feel your excitement with the mountains in the Alps, they are amazing. I did that exact same border crossing into Italy in 2017, I seem to remember that tunnel went on for a very long time.
You should take a leaf out of Pedros book, ditch some luggage and have Marion on the back of the bike, share some moments 👍
20:20 is fort of Exilles, best know for association with Man with the Iron Mask. 10th century originally, I believe
Takk!
absolutely beautiful video as always! can't wait to see what you think about the Italien and Austrian Alps. it's so fun to see your reaction to things I kinda got used to living here 😉 can't wait to take some trips myself come spring.
