A food tour in the multi-generational Italian and Italian-American community in the Belmont neighborhood of the Bronx, where the main drag Arthur Avenue and its adjacent streets comprise the “real Little Italy.” Decades-old, family-run food purveyors include: the Calabria Pork Store (home of the famous sausage chandelier); Borgatti’s, with their egg noodles, manicotti, and ravioli; Casa Della Mozzarella, the acclaimed cheese shop of Orazio Carciotto and his son Carlo; Madonia Bakery, making biscotti and artisanal Italian bread; Peter’s Meat Market, butchers of the Arthur Avenue Retail Market; century-old Mario’s, restaurant frequented by Italian-American celebrities; and Artuso Pastry shop, with its custom cannoli bar. “60-SECOND EXCURSIONS” by the The Global Trip (travel writer/videographer Erik Trinidad) is a series of short, quickly edited travel videos that are 60 seconds or less, originally posted on Instagram/Facebook accounts @theglobaltrip and @plausiblyridiculous. They had been shot and edited on the fly (with iMovie for iOS) during an active trip, and were posted in chronological order—typically within a couple of hours of the moment, in near real-time.
